DNF Multiplayer  "why we dont get any infos about?"

User is offline   holy-inruB

First post here @ D4.net

I didnt found any real related topic.

Well, I follow the Duke since years and Iam happy tht DNF will get his release finally.
But Iam wondering, why we get no detailed infos about Multiplayer.
Wht about game types, available player skins(maybe as a pic cop f. e.)

Everyone is amazed by the single player part, but where is the multiplayer?
In Duke 3D -> dm and coop was really nice, the multi player was a important thing to me.

If I remember right, there was some competion ind Duke3D mp, I mean Events and Duke Leagues.

Finally, are there any detailed informations about DNF mp?
I may have missed some news about.

There hasn't been any news on the multiplayer so you haven't missed anything. They did say that they will talk about multiplayer some leading up to the release so just stay tuned.

Oh and ignore Blackharted. As his signature says, he loves trolling.

I was under the impression that they were actually going to release a multiplayer demo before DNF gets released, so that should answer a lot of questions.

And 3D Realms has confirmed that co-op for the singleplayer campaign will NOT be in the game ;)

I was wondering the same thing, it seems like they're being very cryptic about it. The game is 2.5 months away so why is multiplayer some kind of big secret? The only tidbit we've received lately is that the jetpack might be in MP.

Don't even dare to point out other people's typos, as long as you are one of the most illiterate members of this forum.

why would they release a multiplayer demo? isn't a normal demo enough for now? Also, how the hell would co-op work? its DUKE not Duke and his dog, ;)

also I remember hearing Randy say that multiplayer was being outsourced, like Piranha Games or something? so if its not in-house they might not be ready show anything yet. Besides, I'm sure they have a plan, lets give them some time

I saw your post and it reminded me of that picture I found ages ago. It was made by Michael Wallin who worked at 3D Realms from 1996 to 1997.

Would be nice if there is a coop in the end. I loved to play coop in Duke3D, especially on hardcore skill level, tht you run out of ammo and need to
kick pic cops butts until they die.

Seems tht no one has detailed informations about the mp, so I didnt missed something, thts allright.

Thx for answering my question dudes.

Give him a break. You're in no position to decide the do's and don'ts.

Why don't you pour some gas on your face and set yourself on fire while a mate(if you have one) films the entire thing?
If you do that, be sure to tell him to put that video on this forum.
I am sure at least one member here will enjoy to see that video.

@ holy-inruB - please, PLEASE ignore Blackhearted. Welcome to Duke4.net.

I read somewhere that they (Gearbox) were fixing bugs and developing multiplayer as one of the last tasks before gold (it may have been in the video that Yatta posted on the front page from the Vegas event, not sure.).

Yes yes, I dont care much about flaming guys, dont worry, I know this type of forum users good enough.

Interesting facts Teamonster, probably they give us some information the next days.

I really hope for an enjoyable mp like in Duke3D.

PAX East is early March. There's a possibility of mp being shown there.

This is llisted at the gamestop order page.

Multiplayer Like No Other: Duke re-envisions classic modes of play in his own hilarious and humiliating way. Shrink your opponent and squash him with your foot. Freeze and shatter him. Attach explosives to his back. Roll a pipe bomb between his legs, or just frag him old-fashioned with a rocket.

Well with the damn DN3D Reloaded's first release being a multiplayer release, that could conflict with information for DNF multiplayer. I don't know, but eventually we'll hear something about multiplayer.

DNF uses a modified version of the UT2 engine. Reloaded is using UT3 - Depending on what 3DR did to it, Reloaded may have a more advanced engine than Forever. How the Reloaded team handle multiplayer won't be dependant on how DNF works.

I know, I was saying that it could have an effect on what they advertise. Not on the game itself.

Actually the guys at Reloaded can't show anything until Gearbox gives them the green light. That seems to be one of the conditions for the license they got.
