I can only assume that the lack of any mention of it means a resounding "No".

Nice answers but what still bothers me is how they keep saying mod tools are not included.
I will play dnf in it's vanilla form like eveybody but after that I want heavy Duke3Dification in lots of areas of the game and without mod tools that will not be achieved...

Dude, duke nukem 3d was a relatively linear game that offered lots of different routes along the way but in the end just one route took you to the end of the level.
So I don't think we could call duke nukem 3d an open world game but more likely a linear game.
I am sure co-op would not go that well in a linear game such as that and if I'm correct, then DNF will also follow the same linear concept of DN3D.

Are you kidding me ?
Co-op was awesome in Duke 3D.
I loved it.

We've known for quite a while that there wouldn't be co-op. George said it himself IIRC. They said that Duke's the centre of the universe and it wouldn't make sense having two centres of the universe. (Sounds like something Randy said but nevertheless there was never going to be co-op.)

anyone?
i say chances are skyrocket high that they will release modtools at a later point. just think reasonable. for once.
EDIT: what is that reputation system on the left? are the nazis back?

What makes you think so?
As for Tobey's answers, I would have liked her to be a bit more specific about their plans concerning the old assets; what's included in the art book, will there be video footage of previous builds?

For the earlier builds: i think it is possible that they will release some videos in form of a documentary of the earlier builds or something like that.

That's sad I didn't asked when I had the opportunity if there will be more vehicles in the game. We only saw a monster truck all this time.

Of course it can be fun! I loved to play Sven Coop (Half-Life linear coop mod). Why wouldn't it work for duke?

So the players could play as EDF soldiers, right?
And who scores more points or whatever could earn the 'right' to play as Duke.

Here it is. Another legitamite complaint. Gearbox is being run round by 2K Games, and Randy is trying to play damage control by offering a "maybe hopefully" option.

No offense intended, but that is very naive. Modern games, save for anything done by Valve, don't generally get the mod tools put out because it generates a form of competition for DLC. Why give the tools away for free when you can make excuses now and release it later as something people have to buy? If they were gonna give the tools to the community, they would not have their CM's giving excuses against it, and they wouldn't have to "think about" "consider" or say "we've done that in the past." They'd just say "Yeah, we're going to do that."
Anyway, I'm glad they finally got around to answering the questions. I was afraid they were just going to blow off their biggest community base for Duke Forever.

He said that co-op doesn't go well in a linear game like Duke.
But i don't agree with him, co-op worked very well in Duke 3D and i know it.

No complains here. They (Randi) said this before, none now maybe some in future. Worse case scenario, we are stuck with Eduke32, Unity, Unreal etc. Ain't too bad from where I'm standing.
off-topic

Duke3D was very linear. What are you talking about?

I think they are doing an excellent job. How often do big name developers take questions from unofficial fan forums these days?

This is a point I keep trying to make as well... 3D Realms never treated us like this in my opinion.
Maybe GearBox is a greed monster like "all companies", but I will go with Smart Greed over Dumb Greed any day.
To expand on what I mean by that...
I worked for "greedy bastard" as some often called him. Yep, he was very confident and most interpreted that as arrogance, he was also greedy. Loved money. The way he got "us" to work harder or motivate us was by taking very good care of us as employees. He was never abusive to the employees. He got us the tools, training, whatever we asked for... gave insurance, on and on. Positive reinforcements only.
He did not do one single thing for us because he liked us... he liked that we made him money. We were just like equipment to him really... and he took good care of his equipment. (us)
GearBox might be greedy too, but I like their greed a lot better than 3D Realms.
I think the line between arrogance and confidence got blurry with 3D Realms Management maybe around 2001... (W.I.D.) and GearBox who seems to be confident, not arrogant is here picking up the pieces... and putting them on the shelf as Duke Nukem Forever.
I am not knocking the team at 3D Realms as they were all just employees... and there is no such thing as a bad employee, for more than one day... cause after that, it is bad management.
