eDuke32 wont start in Ubuntu

#1

I installed eduke32 from the Synaptic package manager,
when I press start in the launcher it hangs.

It hangs at "Initializing OSD..."

This is what it says in the terminal:

I found the problem, it's caused by btnx.
It makes eduke32 think there's a joystick plugged in.
Eduke32 runs fine when I connect a joystick.
