EDuke32 indie game  "Help with using EDuke32 for making a indie game"

For 10 years i have been (sp-)mapping with loads of different fpshooters and it all did start with Duke Nukem 3D.
Should you be interested in my sp-mappacks and sp-mods, or see movies of them or any other info about them then please check my site.

Making sp-mappacks and sp-mods is great, but i always have been dreaming of making my own fps.
Ones i released my last HL2 (ep2) sp-mod called Final Project Diary i decided that enough was enough. It really is time to see if i finally can make my own game.
So i looking into all kind of engines that are avaleble now, and the UDK did look very promising. But my main problem is that i can't code and or script.
And because i have mapped tons of maps with the Buildengine long ago i think i can say that making a fps with that engine is easier because there is no real coding
to be done, (hope i'm not wrong about this).

My question is, which programs do i need to make a fps with the buildengine, or a enhanced version of it ofcourse.
I have been googeling for more then a week now and i have been reading lots of tuts and threads, but most info is about modding and or mapping with EDuke32.

My focus is to make a fps that looks as good as possible, (high resolution, great lightning, 3d models as much as possible .etc) but that still can be played on lowe end
computers, and that can be installed with just one .exe file without use of any emulator or how are those programs called, like doxbox etc/.

here is my site should you be interested in my previous work;

edit;

my main reason to choose for a indie game and not a total convertion mod is that when my game is finished
the people don't need to own and have installed Duke Nukem to play the game. Should it be possible to make
a total convertion with Duke, and release it without people having to own Duke Nukem, then i might choose
the option of making a total convertion.

Eduke32 supports MD3 models and high resolution textures. It recently got an overhaul in the lighting department. I've heard of some vast improvements in mapping software but I don't do much with that these days. Mapster32 comes with Eduke32.
The latest build can be found here:

In respect to indie game with Eduke32: someone did make a Sonic3D game using the engine. It is stand alone, I think.

Yeah, there have been several standalone indie games made with Eduke32 now.

Hmm, there should be a repository or list of these indie games somewhere...at least for bragging rights for Eduke32.

Well there's the Sonic one you mentioned, then there is Imagination World, WGR2, and Zombie Crisis. And perhaps others I'm forgetting atm. Before EDuke32, there were also standalone Duke 3D based TCs, such as Borg Nukem and Starship Troopers, which I believe would all qualify as "indie" games.

Starship Troopers required that you had a DUKE3D.GRP of either 1.3 or 1.4/5

More people need to link there indie games made with eduke to this page.
Provided that they have a moddb.com page that isn't set as a mod but indie of course.

http://www.moddb.com/engines/eduke32 Nice to see that WGRealms 2 is on it :blink:
