A collection of mods, maps and utilities  "moved to mediafire"

User is offline   microjunk

#1

After some discussion in another thread about which file sharing medium to use I have begun uploading the mods collection to mediafire. Most of these files are named for their actual name based on the text file, so I couldn't tell the difference between what I had and what was on dukeworld. I didn't want to add duplicate files to the database there so I just uploaded them to mediafire. I have quite a bit of stuff to share and will post whatever I have there and make the links available here. All original txt files should be included, if not please let me know. Thanks to all those that have created these mods and maps, I have collected these over the years and thought it was time to share with the community. All of these have been pre-configured with a batch file to run with eduke32. If anyone has anything to add to this, or feels that there are some things not listed that should be please feel free to comment. Posting links for mods that can't really be found anywhere else, such as speedtrax racing, or wolfenstein grosse, are greatly encouraged.

Link for duke mods (545) -- http://www.mediafire.../?eb74s0cxszx6m

Duke Nukem Maps and Map Packs -- http://www.mediafire.../?ootqn9pn5n6e6

Duke Nukem Manhattan project mods -- http://www.mediafire.../?k3o0dqnmid1q0

Duke Nukem Tools and other Utilities -- http://www.mediafire.../?14ovpyy7d9q3o

Duke Nukem Music Packs and Custom Packs too -- http://www.mediafire.../?q3637mfan3l3w

links for other duke related stuff will follow

*Most Duke Stuff is up now...still working on some music packs and a map pack...the map pack DOES NOT contain all txt files that originally came with the maps...this is not intentional or to offend anyone, they simply got misplaced while toying with duke time to time and after many hard drive swaps, you know the rest....

*Also don't be afraid to share your duke related stuff here, I know what I have is not complete and there are many out there I would love to play, play again, and share with everyone I know...thanks for your support and long live duke.

I have a request : could you upload everything in one big archive ?

I feel this is needed because, as stated many times before, these are already posted on MANY different sites, I am proposing a single collection thats easy to find. I already have most of my collection ready to play, just extract to your eduke32 folder. I am also hoping to inspire other collectors to do the same so that many of the lost mods (I will post screenshots from various web sites that have mods listed with no link) can once again be found and played again. There are quite a few mods out there, though cheesy or unfinished or just lame in some opinions, but they were created and deserve to be played. I also have a few beta and incomplete mods that I am sharing.

@headless_horseman -- I would prefer not...I have another post here, while it is still up with all on megaupload you could try that.

Thank you. This is a much needed service. :(

I'll be sure to check against my collection, which is by no means complete.

Most mods are up now, still trying to weed out a few duplicates and anything with potentially illegal content. I also have maps and utilities going up after...should all be up this weekend. I couldn't seem to get screenshots to work right with my browser, but at dukertcm there are a bunch of dead links, and links that no longer exist...some of these include jurassic park tc, skull creek, and the peacekeeper mod, and speedtrax racing....if any one has these could you post links, or links for anything no longer at dukertcm.

thanks guys

Maybe I missed it in your archive, but I couldn´t find the DukeCraft techdemo by MBlackwell.

Anyways, in the case you really don´t have it, here is a download link:

I dont think I have that one at all...thanks for the link

to everyone reading this....if there are any mods that I dont have here at mediafire, please give a link to what you have. I am trying to compile a database for just about everything duke. I am hoping maybe someone could create a sticky for mods, maps and other utilities, then everyone could compile their own stuff there to share for all. I am still looking for some older mods, speedtrax racing for example would be cool to mod on for duke bike. I am putting a list together of dead links from around the web hoping that anyone here that has those mods can then share them. Thanks for reading.....microjunk

I might have missed it, but I'm surprised Duke4, the Duke Nukem 3D TC site, and microjunk don't have sota (Secrets Of The Acropolis)

I must have missed it at dukeworld, been there at least a dozen times or so looking to see if I had missed anything.....Also Forge I don't believe I have heard of that one, Secrets Of The Acropolis you say, I will have to search for that here and check it out, thanks for the link to speedtrax...seen pictures and haven't been able to grab a copy of it. Lately its hard to get to things with my son, he's finally learning to walk, it makes me so happy to see him go go go. But I will go gt to the list of dead links I am working on, to see if anyone can help with that. I have a few other music packs I am working on too....

thanks again guys...microjunk

edit: Has anyone ever bothered to ask Mikko if he has any of those "hard to get" mods that nobody can seem to find?
He's been collecting stuff since pretty much day one.

I'm pretty sure I didn't see it in your collection.

You are aware that about a quarter of the files you have uploaded as TCs are nothing more than single maps right?
Quite a large number of them don't even have additional art or cons.

I was going to compare what you had to what I had, but with so many maps in there, I gave up before I even got close to a third of the way through.

Yes...I am aware, when I had started with duke again several years ago, most of these had already been set up for other programs, dosbox, jfduke and so on. So many of these were left the way they were. As I collected more, it made more sense to leave them in packs and search them through duke menu.

Yep. Or like me don't use torrent clients.

Torrents are blocked here, so I can't download. If someone can upload the maps to Mediafire I will appreciate it much.

I have a basic mediafire account. It's almost 9,000 files in 650 folders. Since I can only upload one folders worth of files at a time, I apologize for the inconvenience of using a torrent. Ask TX to download it and update the dukeworld site, then everyone can pick through it at their leisure.

I can do that. In fact, since there's nothing illegal or commercial in the torrent I'll just snag it directly onto the server hosting Dukeworld to make it easier to add some of it to the site.

A number of things wrong with this:

It contains the full versions of Duke DC and Nuclear Winter. Demos for Xtreme and Duke!Zone 2 are included, which is fine. A Caribbean folder also exists, but only contains Shark's Cove by HighWire.

Organization could be better.

HRP should not be included: it's constantly updated and a huge waste of space to have 5 separate versions.

Same with TortoiseSVN, speaking of which is only a 64-bit version.

"Duke Nukem v1.6f Patch" and "Eduke2 to Eduke32 Patch" (ENHANCE.ZIP) are bullshit.

Duke Screw 'Em 38D is not at all related to Duke 3D other than the joke name.

All in all, it's sloppy, but well-intentioned.

I haven't looked at the package, but those sure sound like good points.

But in my opinion, any all-inclusive package is of questionable value, since more than half of it (and that's being generous) would be low quality stuff and would be a waste of time, bandwidth and HD space. However, for someone aspiring to be a Duke Nukem Librarian, then this is a must-have.

...etc...

The main purpose was to distribute maps & TCs, the rest of it just happened to be in my duke directory and I really didn't think much about it, so i failed to remove it.

It does slightly draw my attention that you single out duke screw 'em, but do not mention Alqaeda or Quest For Hussein

I know you already linked it, but for whatever it's worth, the Duke Nukem 3D TC site actually does have sota, http://webspace.webr...m4814/id16.html.
Speaking of which, has anybody heard from Eddy lately? He hasn't updated that site in awhile, and it's been even longer since he's logged on over here.
