I noticed that some people don't like Duke's new black and red gloves shown at PAX and would actually like the ones seen in the leak to come back to the game.
I personally hate the ones from the 2007 teaser - 2009 leak and I think the 2010 ones are much better even though I don't like that red part too much.
If I were to chose how the game should ship, I would chose for No gloves at all but since that's out of the question, I chose the new 2010 ones.
Because some people said that they like the old gloves because they've got the nuke logo on them and they hate the new ones because they don't have the logo on them, I've spent a few hours and researched all the Duke Nukem Forever media and I cropped out all of the Gloves that have been shown to the public since they got added to the game.
Here are all the DNF gloves for your viewing pleasure!
As you can see the new ones do have the nuke logo on them and the logo looks a bit like the first version of gloves ever shown.
And for those that think the 2010 gloves are just a new skin on top of the 2009 leaked version, they are wrong because as it can be seen, the 2009 ones were actually modeled with holes in them while the new ones don't have them anymore! Also Duke's thumbs looked stupidly round and short in the 2009 version while in the 2010 version they look much better!
Go ahead and vote which ones you would like to see in the final game!

Well I voted for the 2007-2009 gloves but I like the 2001 trailer variant as well. I guess the 2010 gloves would be ok if it weren't for the orange part; the contrast is just too high and would distract the player from the actual weapon to some degree.

I agree about the red not being bad but distracting.
The gloves themselves are cool but the red is distracting. The gloves don't need 10000 colors to stand out, they just need 1 color and that's that.
I guess it's much better than the blue+ black ones in the 2001 trailer.

I re-read your edited first post and yeah in the 2007-9 version his thumbs were stubby as. And I like how Duke's hand looks really realistic in the 2010 pic on the far right, at least in low res

Can't you see the red leather on the palm side of the gloves?
It can only be seen in the shot where Duke's flipping off.

Ah ok. Yeah I can see the reddish tint.

I thought that may have been from some reddish lighting so I just dismissed it as that. I guess when he does flip do the flip off he's not around any red lights. IIRC. He's about to black out. Thanks for clearing it up for me. ^^ That makes it quite uglier though, two toned gloves.

In the end, it doesn't matter. The red isn't a big deal because you aren't going to be staring at the gloves (I hope) since he will be holding a gun most of the time.


You know, with all this stuff going on, one is obliged to wonder if DNF would be better off never released. No one is ever going to be satisfied with it so it would be best if it never got finished.
