Lol

Why can't anybody out of all those people at pax that we have seen invited in that booth, just freaking post about their experience?
Am I wrong to think that on these forums we just see 10% or less from all the Duke Nukem fans that care to see another game with him?
Why aren't all those people that made Duke Nukem Forever a trending topic on twitter posting here ?

Hello!

I played DNF at PAX, and I'm more than happy to answer any questions and tell you about it. :D

I waited in line for 3 hours before I could even get inside the booth. Once inside, they sat us down, gave us a brief intro, then showed us a long trailer. We were informed we could not take any pictures or video of the trailer, but that we could take pictures(not video) in the demo room. In fact, we were told flat out "leak as many fucking screenshots as you can." I tried to get a few pictures, but I was too excited about playing the game.

The game was presented to us on Xbox 360, and the graphics were pretty solid. I like gaming on the console better these days, but I can imagine the game will probably look even better on the PC. The controls were pretty standard, though I seem to recall having an issue figuring out how to sprint... but whatever.

I ended up spending way too much time fighting the boss, because I'd run out of ammo, and it wasn't clear where there was more. One of the Gearbox guys had to point it out to me after he saw me die while trying to punch the boss to death.

After killing the boss(and kicking his eyeball through the uprights at the stadium I was fighting him at), I got to play a second level where I got to drive around and run over aliens for a while in a desert. Decent controls I suppose. Boost, "power-slide", etc. Then, after the car thing got destroyed, I ran around on foot with a rifle of some sort. Typical zoom and fire type mechanics. After using a mounted turret to destroy a bunch of aliens, I had just picked up a weapon that I thought said "BFG", though "RPG" is probably more likely, when I had to put down the controller.

Lots of one-liners, sex, gore, and over-the-top action. Duke is back, baby. :D

I can try to post some of my pictures if you guys want, but they're pretty bad.

It was on PC with an Xbox 360 controller, actually. :D

Cool story though. Bastards are teasing us to death now it seems.

Well all the in-game prompts were using Xbox buttons, so it would seem like a lot of extra work if that were the case.

But yeah, I'm just glad I got the the chance to play it. And it only took 3 1/2 hours of my life. :D

Forget that, was there music in the game? What kind of music was it? How frequent was it?

I'd say the trailer was 2 minutes long or so. There was music, mostly metal.

you saw it too? Finally one from the community! :D

Nice, so it's a worthy trailer and not a teaser!

Metal??? Was it something like the 2007 teaser theme?
So was it an enhanced Duke theme? :D

Definitely not a teaser, we sat there for a while. I don't recall hearing the grabbag theme, it was just generic metal rythms as the action pumped up.

Maybe it IS Jeremy Soule....I never had the same praise for his work that others have. Though, I did quite enjoy the Oblivion soundtrack. Morrowind not so much.

More like "I don't really remember enough to post anything detailed", but I'll try. The first part of the trailer definitely had some orchestral/epic kind of stuff, but it was used at a set up. The beginning went like "a long time ago, a man saved the world; then he disappeared" (while showing views of the city and a golden statue of Duke posing like the cover of Duke3D). "When the aliens came back" (aliens, pig cops throwing the statue to the ground using rope) "they made only one mistake: they went after our babes." (Duke one-liner, metal music, clips of Duke kicking ass). Then a bunch of one-liners cut with action scenes, strippers, etc. There was one scene where duke shattered a frozen enemy with a kick, another one where he stomped a shrunken pig cop. At one point he grabbed a dying pig cop by the horn and ripped the horn out with his hand. There was a clip of the three-breasted alien queen where he said "Hell, I'd still hit it". An alien sphincter/ship interior that looked very much like Prey.

No, he said he didn't recall Grabbag anywhere in the trailer. Which is kinda....strange.

I'd like to hear remixes of music from Duke 2 and Duke 3D in DNF.

Me too! I would really like to have dn3d music during the levels. The duke3d music would greatly improve the feel that we are actually playing a duke nukem game!
