If you are refering to porting the levels to Duke 3D to be playable on it that is not possible at all as the engine is totally different... sure you could try recreating the levels and even combining them to make them a little longer and more appropriate for a Duke game but I'm not sure why you'd really want to.

If you are however talking about stuff like this:

Than as you can see I've been slowly working on stuff like this as I go through the game. Enemy sprites are a little more complicated... still haven't conquered that mountain but as with most things I'm doing here I'm learning as I go so I'm sure I'll figure that one out soon.

I've also been considering a few other tidbits as I want this thing to be idiot proof... If you've never played the game you should be able to walk away knowing pretty much everything. As such I do have a map for this level which I've replicated from the game. I'm going to tweak it a bit adding item and monster locations for each difficulty... or a chart with that information located close to the map... not sure...

Sorry for talking everyone's ear off on this thing I'm just trying to keep myself going on it as I don't want it to be forgotten so I tend to talk my head off about it to keep it fresh in peoples heads.

Were these ripped from the data or screenripped?

It was mainly ripped using an OAM Viewer which I used to take the tiles and rearrange them into their full form.... for instance the shotgun is in its idle position is normally in 12 pieces which I then take a screencap of each tile and then piece it together... its a time consuming process... there is a similar method that could be slightly faster but I just don't know much on how to do it yet though I think that may be the only way to get the enemies.

I frown upon just taking screencaps of the game as I discovered that the weapons for instance... well a lot of the sprite isn't normally shown due to it being cut off in-game.... usually this is so the weapon can sway up and down but even then you still won't see it all. The shotgun for example... one animation I got of the shells coming out of the gun will never be seen in the game as it takes place off screen... but... its there...

So to answer your question I suppose it is in fact taken directly from the data.

Slightly. It was random. Though you do bring up the fact that Duke would fit really well into comic form.

Really? That's rather silly. If you really wanted to use chat then you could probably get a hold of one of the free games they have and just add it to your account without actually downloading it.

If you have a ATI/AMD (Radeon) graphic card or Nvidia (GeForce) graphic card you can get Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Half-Life 2: Lost Coast for free.

That applies only to Nvidia.

I asked a question to Steam and they said I had to have a Purchased game in my account. Free Games, Demos, Free Weekends do not count :D.

Oh and ReaperMan, I have a freaking intel card -.-, I will upgrade one day

Started posting some cool unreleased stuff on my wiki... go check it out. :(

I'll be finishing up that page with all the info I've gathered for that game but for now you have a few screens to look at. This is the first time anything from that game has ever been seen.

I'm hoping to ramp up work on this now that I have the go ahead on a few things I'm hoping will get the community more interested in this project.

Holy shit, that game is ugly. Hahaha, interestingly, it's definitely using the same Duke model as used in D3D. Interesting however, that it later became Alien Rampage. I did not know that anything ever became of this game.

You know, I like the Wiki, and I like what it aims to do, but it's really discouraging when I read it and there are really poor entries/pictures all over, and there are some truly strange people on there, that thankfully I have not seen in other places.

I agree that there is some incredibly poor written and unstructured articles in the wiki which is unavoidable considering there is no real group that maintains the wiki other than myself. This is something I have been trying to rectify but the main fact is I really need people to get more involved, sadly I don't know of many people who have knowledge of wiki editing and who know something about Duke.

It's a wiki that has potential but is far from reaching it.

Maruno, ilovefoxes and I were both pretty active a few years back but it didn't really get much attention so eventually the work got slower by the days until it merely died off. Nowadays I only check the page a few times a day to fix poorly constructed edits, that is if I have the time.

This is partially my fault... I created the wiki at the wrong time. Originally I was working on an official Apogee & DNF wiki back in the day at 3D Realms that died off for numerous reasons, I was a tad upset that all our work would of gone unnoticed and I thought it was a good idea so I created this wiki years back... unfortunately the Apogee & DNF wiki was still being considered so when I found out that it could still come out I stopped work on this wiki to go back to that one. Sadly it never panned out...

It wasn't until a few years later, this year to be exact, that I noticed my wiki was edited after I abandoned it. I really should of stuck to my guns back then and just kept on rollin' with this thing.

I do appreciate the stuff Maruno, ilovefoxes, and you did to the wiki in my absence as it did lay down the groundwork for a lot of the way things are going to be shaped. I talk to Maruno from time to time about a few things but that's sadly all he has time for now.

I'm hoping one day I'll get this thing all lively again, that's the end goal. Plus, the more people that end up helping out in a proper way the more time I have to go deal with my side projects which are all just exclusives for the wiki or the community since that's the kind of stuff I enjoy.
