Hey guys,
Recently, during my exam week, I've started to get into a little mapping for eDuke. It's going decently; I'm not great, but I'm not bad either. I have an idea for a mod, which I'll hopefully be able to show some work for in the next few weeks, but I'm looking for some tutorials on CON coding, modeling (weapons and such; not art tiles), and some advanced map making ideas.
Hopefully you guys can help.

Looking for some tutorials.

-Which modelling program do you use?
-For mapping: Have you checked this: http://infosuite.dukerepository.com/ ?
-For advanced features i'd take a look at DukePlus: http://deeperthought.dukertcm.com/dp/

Thanks for the reply, Chicken.
For modeling, I use Photoshop, but if one knows of something better, I'm all ears.
Yes: that's what I used to learn. By 'advanced' tricks, I mean things like making custom things such as a bed out of textures. I've seen it done, but am still not sure. Stuff like that.
I'll check out your DP link.
Thanks.

You are probably already aware of the wiki as a source of CON scripting information and other stuff, but just in case here it is:
http://wiki.eduke32.com/wiki/Main_Page
For advanced map making ideas, I would play a lot of different user maps. Again, you are probably already aware of this site, but just in case:
http://dukerepository.com/
My advise is to just focus on one thing and get something finished before trying to make a whole mod. In your case that would be a map since you have already been mapping. People usually underestimate how difficult it is to get something finished.

Thanks DT.
(On a side note: I ended up getting DukePlus to work by upgrading my graphics card. I posted a few pages back on your DukePlus thread about getting it to run).
I have the ideas, I'm just wondering how to make them.
Thanks for the advice. Considering maps are the backbone of the game, I'm probably going to try to get that done first.
