Each of these folders contains at least one .zip file, containing a prototype version of the game.
He said he tried to crack them, but he couldn't.

As for the zip password yeah an encryption check with the file_id.diz would be best.
He could probably release the betas of the freeware liberated ones, but have the ones still selling offered as binary patches.
