Ah, well, I had to upload this as a 2-Part RAR file, contained inside is the music pack, total size is 260MB, I can go back and degrade the quality a little to cut down on file size if required.

Not sure why Autoload doesn't work for me anymore, but I don't use the HRP so much these days anyway, my computer seems to have a hard time of it, even with my old installation that worked before, so it's probably an isolated incident occuring due to my computer getting old.

Have you checked in your EDuke32 startup menu if you have selected "Use autoload folder" (or something like that)?
Otherwise, the file is up on the HRP site, in one piece and with proper readme.

Most likely the setup doesn't come up. So eduke32.cfg has to be edited anyway:
ForceSetup = 1 and/or NoAutoLoad = 0 should do the trick[s] then.

HT, for future pack I'd propose to mention in the README that the autoload contents is loaded alphabetically. A file like polymer_hrp.zip which contains an empty music.def will disable music.zip unless the latter is renamed. And it would be good if a copy or the README is contained in the ZIP as well. Then it could be distributed without putting it into another archive. (I know you did this due to Mediafire's uploading restrictions, though.)

That's why I renamed the file so it pops up in autoload folder before HRP when sorted alphabetically by filename.

BTW on a side note, I am sure the guys from the Doom comm would be happy if you were able to make an OPL music pack for them, too. Ports like ZDoom have OPL emulation, but it's not the real thing. ^^

Hmm, for some reason I've thought that the "autoload" thing is deprecated. Well, apparently, it isn't; It's just that the "MOD dir" approach appears to be the prefered way in general, now.

Good job with the re-recording!

I do intend to remove the file that I've uploaded (to a temporary location).
If someone wants the older pack to be up, I think it'd better fit in a website which is somewhat more relevant.

No. Some prominent community member expressed his extreme dislike on this some time ago, but it's still there. Playing a mod like DukePlus in high resolution still requires autoload or am I wrong on that?
The advantage of autoload is (for me) that the ZIP files can retain their version numbers. Otherwise I'd have to rename them (damn, which version was it?) or edit a BAT/LNK file on every change when not using autoload.

I always thought it was pretty accurate, but I guess it's worth comparing. +1 to this idea.

I've only listened to a couple, but they sound great! The only thing I've found jarring is that the loop point on Stalker isn't very seamless, as in it wasn't cut off at the correct point. There's a bit extra left in. That old FM synth really takes me back to my first experiences playing Duke3D, though! lol This pack needs to exist, no doubt.

Yeah, sounds really good. I am using your pack while playing Metropolitan Mayhem. I think it will become the default in my Polymost installation tree.

After listening to the Adlib pack multiple times, I've come to the conclusion that some of the OGG tracks (sadly) end before the actual loop point. In other words, songs like STREETS.ogg and WATRWLD1.ogg end before they're supposed to. The only way I would know this is by comparing them to the actual MIDI tracks. There's nothing wrong with the quality of the tracks themselves, they're just shorter than the original MIDIs.

Maybe you guys can provide a list with the tracks which are cut off and/or don't loop correctly, that would probably help High Treason. A minor update might seem in order in case it is as the folks say, I couldn't check it so far.

In order to avoid a necrobump/double post, I just mention it like this:
There was an issue with the OPL music pack. Basically, the definitions didn't contain the actual OGG files (only referencing the "highres\music" HRP dir), resulting in the whole pack not working at all. It hadn't been reported to me until yesterday - no clue why nobody noticed it during the last three years.
Anyway, I have fixed the definitions now and uploaded a new version, v2.01. If you want to update (even though you have probably done it in the meantime already by simply copying a music.def from one of the other music packs since that fixes it, too), you can download it on the HRP website just like before.
