Found a problem. Under the "Play Level" tab. When you check "No Monsters" box and select an episode and select and play a level. If you save the game in that level w/ no monsters checked and load the save back up. It crashes. Is there anything you can do about it?

Thank you so much for this, i am gonna try this out tonight.
One question though, is this like an improved launcher from the GOG version ?

I'll add that to my to do list. I working on a new Duke 3d laucher now. Adding better support for cd rom installs., and support for people with v1.3 and plutonium pack.

I made it for all versions, Retail CDrom, and GOG. Just remember to launch with admin rights if you installed in GOG default install location.

Skulldog. I found some interesting articles that may improve Blood w/ the resolutions, framerate and so on. Here they are. Have a look and see If you're gonna implement these in your next update to make blood playable in all PCs. Whether it's on desktops and laptops:

Good to Know, i will do some tweaking with this. BTW, I will not be able to change the way Blood is installs. it uses its own data compression, and it needs the
install.exe to unzip files.

Edit,
Does anyone have a PDF copy of Cryptic passage manual, and Blood Plasma Pak manual?

One new problem. The CD/OGG music doesn't seem to repeat after it finishes playing. Here's the link at GOG for this problem.

http://www.gog.com/e...peat_help/page1

You might want to create a DOSBox launcher that don't have the audio cd-loop bug: http://www.gog.com/e...pport_for_blood

About the Plasma Pak manual scan. I have the manual at my Dad's house. So I'm thinking about scanning it and make a PDF out of it and give it to you. May take some time (week or so). We'll see. Unless someone else does it for you.

The DOSbox Launchers links at The Postmortem needs updating too.

On the next release, under video and sound, I have added a Checkbox to activate dosbox svn to switch between V0.74 and V0.74.01 which is the SVN build that fixes the music
problems. Also added the Shareware version of Blood, so that anyone can try it right from the start. BTW, I added those video settings too, I'm glad you pointed that out. It looks
and plays alot better now. I guess i need to add the ogg music files for cd-rom installs.

So are you gonna to implement these resolution and framerate tweaks w/ the rest of the other Build games Skulldog? Not only Blood but Duke Nukem 3d, Shadow Warrior & Redneck Rampage.

Yes, I also discovered, if you use a mounted cd-rom drive for music in-game the frame rate drops. So after cd-rom install, it now unmounts cd-rom drive, then mounts
either gog cd image or the one you can download with Blood dosbox launcher.

New Version of Blood DosBox Launcher is now available.

Changelog for Blood Dosbox Launcher 9-1-2012

V4.3 9-1-2012

Do a fresh install with this version!

Added some new video option settings in Video\Sound.

Changed default Video settings on startup. Much better frame rate.

Added a Checkbox in Video\Sound menu to switch between Dosbox V0.74
and DosBox V074.01 svn for the music looping and volume problem.
So just check the box after you start the launcher.

Added Shareware game, so anyone can try out. So now you can play
the first level right off. The Folder .\BLOODS Can be deleted if you
do not want the Shareware version.

Added Blood Alpha and Blood Beta. The Folders .\BLOODA And .\BLOODB
can be deleted if you do not want them.

Added Cryptic Teaser Shareware. Only works if you install blood or
OUWB. The Folder .\CRYPTICS can be deleted if you do not want.

Now you can install OUWB and BLOOD retail from CD-ROM. All will
have seperate folders so when you save games in singleplayer each
will have 10 saves.

Folder list:
.\BLOOD121 = V1.21 OUNE UNIT WHOLE BLOOD
.\BLOOD111 = V1.11 BLOOD without Plasma Pak
.\BLOODP = v1.11 BLOOD with Plasma Pak
.\BLOOD120 = v1.20 BLOOD with Plasma Pak
.\CRYPTIC = CRYPTIC PASSAGE
.\BLOODA = BLOOD ALPHA
.\BLOODB = BLOOD BETA
.\BLOODS = V1.11 BLOOD SHAREWARE
.\CRYPTICS = CRYPTIC TEASER SHAREWARE
.\ARTEDIT = ARTEDIT STUFF
Multiplayer, Levels and Maps use Blood.exe from main directory.

Added new buttons to make it look good.

Added a Dosbox Starter Menu. Access from TC ADDONS Menu.

Fixed artedit in toolbox menu. It now makes a seperate folder
called ARTEDIT that it runs in. You can make chages without
missing thing up. You can delete the ARTEDIT folder anytime
you want. The next time you press the button it will make a new
folder with all the files needed.

Minor bug fixes and improvements.

Know Problem with saving a game in levels or Maps with No Monster.
when you try to load the game it will crash. This has nothing to
do with Blood DosBox Launcher. Do not save Games with No Monster.

Do not delete the BDLVERS.INI. It keeps track of what versions of
Blood you install from cd-rom. And what was install first or if you
have GOG version. If this file is lost or deleted you will need to
do a fresh install. Also do a fresh install for this new version, or
the selection menu will display the wrong selection items.

This actually looks like a helpful launch aid. Before I bite and download all the stuff, how easy would it be for me to replace the mounting of the GOG or included music with my own prepared cuesheet with lossless verified rips?

Just, delete or rename GAME.INST , and then name your bin\cue BLOOD121.BIN , BLOOD121.CUE. It looks for GOG's GAME.INST first, then BLOOD121.CUE .
What sound format do you want to use.? If ogg, you can replace the gog oggs with new oggs with the same name. The Bin\Cue i made for download is just in .wav
format. MagicDisc only allows .wav format. I now have PowerISO program, it seems to support more formats. In the blood121.bin the audio files are just named Track 02 -
Track 09. As you can see. I will try this myself with other formats too.

I will add a way to select which Bin\cue sheet on next release. Just need to know, if I should use a folder called Music or just work out of the main directory?

I'd say keep it organized in a subfolder.

So you're saying that you're gonna add custom soundtracks in the next release? Like playing a music cd off of the cd drive and typing commands to switch & repeat music tracks just like Shadow Warrior? And will the Music Folder support mp3's and midi's?

No, You will be able to make your own Music Bin\Cue Cd images with ogg,, wav , mp3, and put them in a folder called CDIMAGES, then under video\sounds you can
select the cue file to mount as cd drive. Then it is up to the Blood.ini file to choose what gets played. Shadow Warrior, Redneck, and Duke are all seperate animals . I 'm
not even sure if Blood can use midi. In any case, it will support cue sheets that point to ogg, mp3, and wav in the same folder. "CDIMAGES" . I will also, made it able to
mount a regular cd drive, or virtual cd drive by drive letter. Maybe down the road I could add something to let you change the Tracks listed in the blood.ini file before you
start the game. After the game is started you can't change anything.

Here is the new Blood DosBox Launcher update V4.4 .

V4.4 9-4-2012

Added User Control of what Cd Drive or CD image Cue gets Mounted as
drive D:\ when starting a game, for custom music in-game.

CUSTOM BIN\CUE CD IMAGES and CUE SHEETS for MUSIC:

You can add your own Bin\Cue, .ogg, .mp3, .wav files to a folder
called "CDIMAGES" in Blood's main directory. You can also move
GOG files game.inst, game.gog and all the .ogg music files to
"CDIMAGES" folder. Then select in video and sound menu.

You can now make custom Bin\cue file images for Music. Just place your Bin\Cue files in Folder called "CDIMAGES" in Blood's main directory.
Under Video and Sound Menu you can select which cue file to Mount as
cd drive D:\ for music in Blood. You can also Mount a Physical or,
Virtual cd drive instead of Bin\cue.

When you make a Bin\Cue make a text file with the same name, so that
your music track titles will show up in Select CD Music Tracks box
under Play a Map Menu. Make the .txt file like this:

EXAMPLE:
Say, BLOODY.CUE is your cue sheet. your Text file should be name BLOODY.txt, with the following lines:

Change the TRACKNAME1 thur TRACKNAME12 to your Track song Titles.
this is what will show up in selection box in Play a map menu.

[TRACK TITLES]
TRACK 01=TRACKNAME1 - (Can be left out if a Mix mode Bin\Cue)
TRACK 02=TRACKNAME2
TRACK 03=TRACKNAME3
TRACK 04=TRACKNAME4
TRACK 05=TRACKNAME5
TRACK 06=TRACKNAME6
TRACK 07=TRACKNAME7
TRACK 08=TRACKNAME8
TRACK 09=TRACKNAME9
TRACK 10=TRACKNAME10
TRACK 11=TRACKNAME11
TRACK 12=TRACKNAME12

Any Tracks you don't use leave out.

More infomation on Bin\Cue sheets:
http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Cuesheet

Made some programming changes to Dosbox Starter Menu.

Minor improvements.

Do I put the BDLSettings.ini in the CDIMAGES folder or the GOG/One Unit Whole Blood directory? Making sure as the instructions in the update didn't say where to put that file.

No, put all files into main directory from the update zip. CDIMAGES, is for Files that end with Inst, Gog, Bin, Cue, Wav, Ogg, and Mp3.

Why do people need launchers/frontends?
Good old DOS batch file menu is more than enough for me...

New problem w/ V4.4. When you check the "No CD music" box. The Cutscenes don't play. If you uncheck it, they play. Using the GOG version. Had it under the directory C:\GAMES\GOG\One Unit Whole Blood. I downloaded the V4.4 off of your new site.

I'll fix it in next release. That is because the gog.inst cd images has the music and the Cutscenes.
