Started a thread because I couldn't find any VAlve/Half-Life specific threads.

So for anyone not living under a rock, Valve have been planning an update for Half-Life 2. It finally released today and it's freaking great.

The cliffnotes are:

• Half-Life 2 + Episodes + Lost Coast are all bundled together in one launcher.
  
• Workshop support
  
• Developer commentary was included
  
• Maps, were updated and fixed + bug fixes
  
• Upgraded steam deck compat

We also got a documentary on the making of HL2 like the one we got for HL's 25th (I think?) anniversary as well and videos of old demos like Free TVs and E3 2003!



Gotta say, Valve really did knock it out of the park with this one. I like what they have been doing with this updates.

Seeing the E3 2003 video in full definition, instead of some camcorder footage, is surreal.

You may currently get a copy of Half Life 2 from Steam for free. My *guess* from what I can see here is that should also grant access to the two additional episodes, and possibly also Lost Coast.
