[December Man]

The aim of this mod is to enhance DN3D visuals, audio quality, add QoL changes and fix some bugs. Mods like Duke Plus or Nuclear Showdown, while great, interfere with mentioned balance in a significant way and HRP style packs (adding high resolution textures etc. to old games) never resonated with me - I always preferred the graphics quality closer to the original. This is the reason I created Cosmetic Duke.

IMPORTANT! ALL ADDONS (BDP, PYP, SOTA, EDF, 25TH) NOW WORK ONLY WITH THE NEWEST VERSION OF NIGHTFRIGHT'S EDUKE ADDON COMPILATION 4.0!

Spoiler

- Integrated HQ sounds by Dzierzan (base game and all addons). All HQ replacements were... replaced by Dzierzan's work.
- Integrated NightFright's widescreen menus (base game and all addons). The exception is the loading screen as E4M3: Shop-n-Bag, as well as many user maps, use it as a sprite and extending it ruins its appearance.
- Integrated upscaled 3DR logo from Enhanced Resource Pack by Phredreeke and friends
- All title screens are now in 16:9 aspect ratio with the exception of BDP The Gate. Thanks to Phredreeke for help!
- Added another DNF Duke line when gibbing enemies (all versions except Caribbean, since in Caribbean all Duke lines are vacation related):
"Rainin' blood, baby."
- Added another DNF Duke line when headshotting enemies:
"Time to redecorate... in Brain Matter Grey."
- Removed some redundant messages I added in the previous versions
- Replaced Grabbag.voc in the Episode 3 ending with the HQ version of the original
- Reduced amount of debris from RPG explosions
- Mini Battlelords/Battlelord Sentries no longer drop Large Medkits when killed while frozen
- Chance of dropping a Small Medkit by all regular enemies (except Assault Troopers/Captains, Slimers, Eggs, Babes, and Elves) when killed while frozen was reduced to 50% (was 100%)
- QoL change: Turrets now emit a sound (LASERTRIP_ARMING) when they acquire a target and re-acquire after being damaged
- QoL change: picking up Access Cards now also mentions their color (idea taken from Duke 3D Fixes mod)
- General file structure and code improvements

Addon specific:
- Caribbean: Life's a Beach: replaced title screen with one provided by Besli, as it is closer to the original with the Jessica Alba look-alike
- Nuclear Winter: changed "secret found" sound
- World Tour: added a World Tour title screen from WT promotional materials/wallpapers
- World Tour: replaced censored red cross sprites and textures with original ones
- World Tour: added Incinerator sprite fix by Fox
- World Tour: changed Incinerator ammo pickup sound

Fixes:
- Added fixed Skycar from World Tour
- Fixed all of duplicate sound warnings being spammed in eduke32.log
- Fixed "getflorzofslope: invalid sector -1" error spam in eduke32.log thanks to Danukem!
- Fixed additional death animations triggering on flying Assault Troopers... for real this time
- Caribbean: Life's a Beach: fixed some environmental sounds not playing
- Duke It Out In DC: fixed skyboxes in level 1 and level 10
- Nuclear Winter: fixed shotgun shells not ejecting when Groan's fire
- Secrets of the Acropolis: fixed footsteps on water and organic material
- World Tour: implemented Cycloid Incinerator AI fix by Ninety-Six (no double health)

New ModDB link. This time I created a ModDB page for Cosmetic Duke.

I tried playing with Caribbean, DC and Nuclear Winter but none of them seem to work properly. I put them in "autoload" but only the main Cosmetic_Duke seems to run properly none of the others do.

Do I need the eDuke addon compilation pack to run these? If so, where can I download it?

Remember to remove any Game.con, Defs.con, User.con files from your main directory.

Got it working I used a fresh, unaltered eDuke3D to get it working. Something else must have been causing problems, possibly one of the other zips/rars in my directory
