Hi, it's me again. Despite my word some... eight months ago probably, I did actually try out Blood mapping in January of this year and painstakingly learnt XMAPEDIT through trial and error, a shaky manual that kept crashing on me and some video tutorials featuring a narrator with a very heavy Spanish accent. I made a whole episode and everything too. It had some fairly neat scripted events (which are impressive by my standards), a partly original (as in original compositions) MIDI soundtrack and it played pretty well, but lacked on visuals and some of the scripting probably looks like spaghetti code to anyone experienced in a Build editor.
The problem is that once I compiled everything I realised that there is basically nowhere to actually show my work off. Obviously I can't put it in Doomworld. Blood has its own forum (Altar of Stone) but when I checked the last map that had been uploaded there was three or so weeks ago and it just feels like a dead website. Death Wish and Marrow were uploaded on ModDB but there's probably forty things being uploaded there each day that aren't Blood and I can't imagine people would be actively hunting new maps there. I would have probably uploaded it here but I didn't really feel confident as there's no channel explicitly for uploading Blood (or any other Build game besides Ion Fury) maps. So I instead gave myself a pat on the back for trying something new, let my mapset rot on my hard drive and went back to UDB.
Part of me wants to go back to the Build Engine but I'd want to make maps for pretty much any game except Duke 3D. So as a result I feel quite trapped and unsure of what to do next while I'm working on my next Doom MegaWAD. Some advice would be greatly appreciated on this.
Cheers!
Kudos re: first paragraph.
As for the rest, uh, we have this dedicated board on here:

ModDB is fine as well in terms of audience. Unless you're after a ghost one that doesn't exist? But without the work out that is supposed to federate those people to begin with, how could they? Seems like backwards logic to me (also see: not posting on a dedicated website because no one else is posting only means you are part of the problem, no?). Either you are under some sort of illusion regarding what being a modder really entails (sacrifice in order to make a shared experience possible; not visibility, not glory), or it is your insecurities getting in the way and generating the excuse for you.
Regardless of what I think, you probably should release your episode, especially given that it sounds like you put quite a bit of yourself into it. In case you haven't figured it out yet, those always are the most interesting projects, and the least accessible ones to the general public (by definition, since they are special and not generic). Up to you whether you accept that equation or not (but either way will not disprove it).
