Hi everyone,

In collaboration with Spytihněv (the developer of HROT) and newbigbox-releases (also known for the MARS 3D – Community Release), a small run of a physical edition of HROT has been announced.
Perhaps someone here might be interested. The edition can now be pre-ordered at https://www.newbigbox-releases.com

I can't edit my post because I forgot the "s" in http. Here's the correct URL: https://newbigbox-releases.com

PC CD-ROM? Is that inside a CD? I'm pleasantly surprised that computers with CD drives are still being made today... I don't think the same can be said about laptops. Or is that not the case?

This edition is mainly aimed at collectors and fans of old game boxes, as well as people who don’t want everything to be digital.
For everything else, there’s Steam and co.
But you’re right, optical drives at modern computers (cd, dvd, bluray) to die out. And I think the next generation of video gaming systems are also out of optical drives.

The mystery box must be D.O.R.F., right?

I played this recently, and have to say that the strong emphasis on Czech history and folklore is what really sets it apart from similar shooters. You come across odd things all throughout the game, and then you find out that they all have some basis in real life, and it makes you interested in finding out more.

I can't really state it any better than MrFlibble already did years ago, but I find this personally much more memorable than games like Dusk or Amid Evil.

I forgot to ask, will the CD version contain the full, DRM-free game, or (hopefully not) just a Steam key or something?

I love that they write out PRESSED CD-ROM on there.
