Dark Forces Voxel Pack

Hi there!

As I mentioned here https://forums.duke4...post__p__346613, I am making the voxel pack for Star Wars: Dark Forces. To not further leech from luciusDXL's thread, I decided to make my own topic about this.

So, this voxel pack is supposed to be used for The Force Engine https://theforceengine.github.io/ as soon as it gets voxel support (the original game didn't support voxels, but rather 3DO models). Of course I see no problem if it's used in other mods.

The link to the github project is here https://github.com/D...rces-Voxel-Pack Contributions are highly welcomed as there is a handful of sprites which are too "organic" for me to voxelize them.

I've been also experimenting with voxels enemies. Now I wanna state that I am not interested in organic enemies, but only in droids. Here's the viper probe:

Voxel switches. Those should be all possible ones with clear ON and OFF states. There's still a handful of similar sprites which will benefit from voxelization as well:

I am definitely planning on supporting voxel rendering - I think seeing these voxel models in the levels will be really cool. :)

That said it will still be a while before the support is added, the basics are still in development.

A minor update, I voxelized thermal detonator. Now this is actually interesting, while the shape is super trivial, the original sprite is rolled, which technically is not that easy to paint the other side. I decided to redraw this sprite to help myself.

I am slowly getting to fully finished voxel pack if we count only items, props and switches. I'll certainly try to finish voxel droids and update previous voxels as well.

I mentioned this on Twitter already, but that explosive barrel I pictured looking quite different in my head. With the central cylinder being smaller and those bars on either side being on the outside of the cylinder increasing its width with 4-6 of them.

EDIT: You responded on Twitter. Decent reasoning to change the design. :dukeaffirmative:
