I just bought one of these stupid things. At least I have 2 years before I'm forced to merge my Oculus and Facebook accounts. I'll be replqcing it with an Index in that time and selling this hunk of junk. I know everything these days tracks you in one way or another, but Facebook is one of the worst and it's ridiculous to think anyone would just stand idly by while they make such a ridiculous announcement that nobody would be excited about. Why can't a VR headset just be that? We don't need social network activity shoved down our throats. It should all be entirely optional.

What's funny though is that HTC Vive's official Twitter has been all over the replies taking advantage of this blunder. Lol it's pretty entertaining.

Facebook buying Oculus is one of the biggest red flags I've ever seen in Big Tech. I totally backed out of ever buying VR years ago when that happened.

Scary to think that Facebook is just one of the well-known social media platforms with trackers everywhere. There are probably plenty more we're not even aware of.
Privacy really is getting scarce.
