Duke was always a hedonist (he certainly loves his women, guns, alcohol, cigars, sex, steroids, and rock & roll), not a misogynist. Except in DNF and some rather shitty lines in Time To Kill & Land of the Babes. But those don't count because they were written by numpties.

I has just occurred to me, have you noticed that in the classic Arnold action flicks, his character is either married, or was married at some point and/or has children, or is disinterested in anything other than a committed relationship with one person. I don't remember Arnold the womaniser at all.
Of course he was not the only inspiration for Duke, just sayin'.

That's true. For example, in Terminator he was only interested in a (short term) relationship with Sarah Connor. But I would say that Duke is more modeled on Ash.

Duke Nukem is a mix of Demolition Man, Last Action Hero, Terminator and Evil Dead, and possibly Rambo and Rocky

That moment when the left wants to ban racist jokes, gay jokes, sexist jokes, etc. but for some reason pedo jokes are ok in their pursuit of puritanism.

Not in this case. There are certain rules they don't set at all that you'd think would be contradictory to their own beliefs. There is an agenda behind it. I don't think JSJ really cares about these things deeply but as a conformist he knows that pedo jokes get a pass. Frankly I don't think there should be limitations on any type of humor but I am always amused how the puritan Left exempts certain taboos among others.

The new lines are funnier and even sounds better, although I couldn't really explain why they sound better, perhaps because Jon St John freely reccord them single handledly with his own hardware...

I consistently fail to find this funny.
JSJ should go back to reading Fifty Shades of Gray aloud in Duke's voice, now that was funny.
