FOV Breaks Skybox

Not to complain but what's the point of having an fov slider if anything above a 90 breaks the skybox and makes it look weird as hell. I mean is there anyway to make the fov not affect the skybox? (Is there a mod to fix/adjust the skybox?)

It was like that in the original game, i.e. when you are shrunk
