I love the several minutes of just raw gameplay at the end. Oh it looks so good. Some of the finest material to come out of this community right here. If it had a price tag I'd buy it without a second thought.

Wow, looks like an amazing mix/crossover of other old school games.

When it will be ready approximately?

"If you bring me a golden skull, I will give you a powerful weapon", only one? phew! I was worried he wanted 100 Gold Skulltula

It's a shame I probably won't be able to play this until I get a new rig, though. I can't even get the current version to run in polymost stably, so I always play it in Classic. It doesn't look like this version will support that renderer, though. (I mean the old one really didn't either but I could accept some visual glitches).

Don't take it the wrong way though. This thing probably needs that power. I'm a patient man, so I'll happily wait until I can play this in its full glory. Right now I'm just ecstatic that this project is still alive. That will sustain me until then.[/spoiler]

r6502 iirc

so you should still be able to play it in classic if that is the only way to get it to work on your machine (with the glitched hr art)

though I can't say if it's going to be updated or retrograded in the final release

I suppose there's no harm in trying and seeing what happens. Worst case scenario I just uninstall it and stick with 1.2 until my machine can handle it.

I will try my best to keep classic mode playable when this gets released. (y)

I cant guaranty anything, I am aiming at August, if its not finished by then, maybe Christmas.
There will be some small bugs I will need Dan to fix but nothing mayjor, so hopefully by that time he is back online.

Progress is going well I have been working on this every night so far this year. Before that I have a huge 10 year break.

I don't know how to express my gratitude in a way that won't be weird, so I'll just say thank you.

And if doesn't work out, don't beat yourself up over it. I'll play this one way or another. Worst case I (and anyone else with similar issues) just wait a bit longer than everyone else.

Still, thank you so much. You're a hero.

8-bit compatibility just means that if there is a model or 32-bit asset, then there must be an 8-bit version as well. It doesn't mean that the 8-bit version is going to be as good...

I noticed views on the trailer went up significantly today, and now I know why, moddb.com has added a banner for WGRealms on their front page. WOW!

I'm well aware of that. 32-bit is the intended experience. But as things are right now, I'm stuck with 8. So until I can get a new rig, I don't really have a choice but to live with the 8-bit experience, inferior and glitchy as that might be,

Which is why I'm so grateful that WG will at least try to keep it playable in the classic renderer. I literally can't play it otherwise until some nebulous time in the future. And if that doesn't work out, that's fine. That's how the cards fell. I'll still appreciate the effort nonetheless. I'll just wait.

But if it's playable in classic I will definitely do that. It's not like I'm forfeiting the full 32-bit experience. I've replayed 1.2 several times over the years, and I don't see why that would change with this new version. I'll play it, and then probably come back to it sometime later. And then again sometime after that. If a game or a mod is good enough, I always end up replaying it eventually. And to be honest, once I get more powerful hardware, WGR2 is probably going to be near the top of the list of things I want to try out.

How ancient is your hardware? I'm running a 10-11 years old Dell comp with a 5 year old Nvidia card and Polymost and Polymer run fine. Another reason I ask is because I'm in the middle of gathering up all the boxes of hardware from my deceased dad's computer collection. Its mostly from the Win98 - WinXP era but maybe one of the video cards is something more modern than your's. If its something that will fit your motherboard I'd let you have the card for only the price of shipping. ( if you live in the U.S. )

I'm actually running integrated so...that probably sets me back further than dedicated cards that are older than this board.
