Are you real? Do you actually believe that?
Well, we live in a time where angry gamers openly talk about trying to drive female game developers to suicide and fucking PewDiePie fans livestream themselves going on shooting sprees...

Imagine as a gamer who grew up with shooters like Blood, Duke, Doom and Quake, how much of a torpid mess something like Borderlands is. It's trying to be Rage, and failing at even meeting that challenge. Now imagine that you meet someone, who in PUBLIC, admits to preferring some tedious garbage like Borderlands. This is especially after both Doom and Wolfenstein have both been spectacularly resurrected to both critical and commercial success.
Well, here is the thing: I did grow up with shooters like Doom (which is still one of my all-time favourites), Quake and Duke Nukem 3D, and yet I still enjoy the Borderlands series; the first one is a bit boring and clunky, I will admit, and I have my issues with Borderlands 2, but I was all in all pretty pleased with Borderlands The Pre-Sequel, even though it is not without flaws either.
Incidentally, it was RAGE that I found to be a torpid mess/tedious garbage... Hopefully, the sequel will be an improvement.
I am definitely considering buying MachineGames' Wolfenstein games at some point, but I can say for sure that I am
not a fan of Doom 2016 and I will most likely not even bother with Doom Maternal either - although I do appreciate its reintroduction of classic enemy and weapon designs - unless I can get it dirt cheap or for free. Which is really weird for me, as I have always been more of a Doom guy (
) and never really enjoyed any of the previous Wolfenstein games, save maybe for the better-than-expected Wolfenstein 2009.
