Oath Inc. (about a year old news) very controversial thing  "What is your position on it?"

It applies to emails etc.
I keep getting that oath reminder
(accept) or (I'll do that later).
I kept clicking I'll do that later, dunno how long will stay,

The new Policy where AOL, Yahoo, etc or something into one brand.
Oath / Verizon
very controversial,
Such as targeting advertisement.
They said they have the right to read your emails, look at your photos.
and anything in your email.

Lots more.
This guy explains it.

Their policies

PS

Oath Inc. had a history of being hacked etc.

What are you, a Baby Boomer?

Regardless, if you find this to be anything new then you're too naive or trusting to be on the internet anyway. They've been data mining you for over a decade anyway, targeting their ads to you. If you don't use adblockers you're actively destroying the internet. These Privacy Policies aren't really shocking at all. When you're online you should assume that whoever has your shit is going to read your shit. And even further, the NSA's echelon systems have been tracking every digital communication since the 80s. (Your country is part of the Five Eyes so this still applies to you, Zaxtor.) When it comes to people tracking you and accessing your "private" data, then it's a game you can only win by not playing at all. Anything you do on a computer is being watched and tracked by someone else.

I hope my agent finds me funny. Sup dude?

Oath Inc
Founded June 13, 2017; 14 months ago

This Oath I refer to
https://en.wikipedia.../wiki/Oath_Inc.

https://www.oath.com
Domain activity peaked at 2017s.

That domain existed since late 90s

Check history
https://web.archive....://www.oath.com

As for April 9s 2017
It became this kind of Oath

And in May or after was started to get mentioned on the news what they wanna do to the emails and privacy.
I dunno their behavior before that.

I don't talk about ads.
We all get ads.
I talk about their ability to look into your messages, emails attachment etc.

I don't talk about police search warrant or shit like that.
I use ADblockers always.

PS I don't care for ads.
Concern is email reading, privacy issues.

You don't think they weren't already doing, or able to do this? You really thought your data was secure?

Inside your email you get ads sometime between messages.
Banks ads and you can select "don't like this ad" etc

They don't bother me.

Well Oath is controversial and the guy in the video explains.
Reading their Terms on the last link I have provided on 1st message explains stuff sounds little too far.

Canadian privacy commissioner investigates Rogers, Yahoo over email terms of service issue
https://mobilesyrup....y-commissioner/

Yahoo and AOL just gave themselves the right to read your emails (again)
Though Yahoo was already scanning its users' emails to maximize ad opportunities, doubling-down on the policy could raise eyebrows in a post-Cambridge Analytica world.
https://www.cnet.com...mails-messages/

PS
I don't recall of hearing on the news when Yahoo started to read your emails before.

While in real life tampering with someone's mail and or opening their letters is a federal offense.

So is weird online they can do that.

Is not being naive.
I probably missed the first news about the yahoo thing,

Was probably working on my mod, on vacation etc.
Depend the date was mentioned.

Recent one where Oath pressures you to click "accept"
I knew it since last year.
I just clicked "I'll do that later"

You're so naive that you don't even understand your own naivete.

Possession is 9/10 of the law. If you don't own the servers your data is stored on, then you don't own your data. It doesn't matter what a TOS says.

Hasn't google been doing this forever?
But yeah, as much as I hate all that crap, only way to stay secure is to simply watch out on what you put online and run your own personal services (or paid good ones) if you want more security.
Many of the online services are simply not free, they charge you with your data you voluntarily put on their systems.
It's quite challenging to get a decent coverage of modern conveniences without going through some provider

And now putting the tinfoil hat on for a bit,
It's a wild era, so much has changed in the past 20 years for daily life that most of these hostile services are assumed to be a logical default choice despite the downsides, as much as I hate "think about the kids" argument, it sickens me that our local transportation company is already pushing people towards application based tickets, now even kids under 10 are encouraged to register with either apple/google and it's just a matter of time before they start monitoring their daily commuting behavior in order to "improve services"

Sucks to think that perhaps in another 20 years you are already registered in a dozen of systems, (+ a bank & card to even get an allowance) and companies know a lot about you before you even get to choose for yourself :(

It's a slow process but GDPR is at least something towards the right direction in EU, data collection is still allowed but you have to provide a damn good reason on why you need to keep it or collect it (or have it be non-anonymized).
Also being able to request data on you & being able to delete. This would cover the issue of "own choice".
No TOS is capable of going over that. Many services aren't compliant despite seemingly allowing choice, that oath thing sounds like the GDPR splash I keep getting.

I think the best email you can have is your ISP email.
is secure.
or that software you have on your comp to have emails

My ISP email, I never get ads, nor spam nor any unwanted shit.
only wanted shit, :(

As for emails they should apply same shit as real mails.

That tampering with someone's mail is a federal offense. (USA)
In Canada is a criminal offense and police can arrest people doing it.

But online they get away with it,

Postal workers rifle through people's mail all the time.

well shit can happen.

Some get disturbed some don't
envelope when a friend, parent, love one sent one such as Birthday card,
Some contain 20$ , 40$ and above.
Never got robbed nor letter's envelope disturbance.

never got disturbed, well never happened to me.

envelope you lick them sealed so is pretty hard to open them and close them back without causing damage to the envelope.

Maybe stuff in boxes can be disturbed (depending on the box).
I ordered stuff in small boxes, don't think they were disturbed because if you remove or cut the tape to check what's inside and then put new tape and comes to you.
You will see the disturbance on the box like it was opened before.
Never happened to me.

I once ordered APC lead battery.
it got delayed and they called me and said your battery were dropped and cracked open, leaked acid and they had to replace it.
So maybe someone opened it and dropped it, these things are heavy.

PS

Postal worker would lose their job if they do that.
I doubt it is all the time.
It can happen but rarely and they're lucky they did not get caught.

^ My new Bank Card got lost – forever, had to ask for a new one.
I've got charged twice by Steam, that too was fixed.

Laws will be ignored if the potential profit out way the risk or punishment. Doesn't matter if it is Google, Verizon-Oath (that names begs for a meme) or some mail man.

As for the OP, who cares? Collect what ever your heart desires. Let's see, last advertisement via my junk email came from Gearbox for We Happy Few, was deleted, with a quick right click. I don't use email for much. Business communication are done within a very private project management software, but a good hacker would be able to snoop into it also, nothing is fool proof.

@ oasiz
Google and others just embarrassed the EU by collecting data with better algorithms than they did. Can't have that. All data belongs to the EU Super State; how else can you control the masses? :(

Good thing I wasn't charged twice when my battery I ordered few years ago one set of 2 got busted and leaked and replaced for free.
So didn't have to pay 69$ again

Oath inc had a history of being hacked several times despite their claims of being "Secured"

PS lil off topic
when I was renting movie on google for 4.99 CAD, Site glitched out and process wasn't completed but payment was completed.

I contacted them and they fixed it fast and didn't have to pay another 4.99.
Their movie rental section had good customer service soo far
