you're far too defensive about it, so I think you do feel a bit of shame about it. Seriously there's tons of better media for you to digest out there than a children's cartoon.
And there's also tons of better material for you to digest than an 18 year old video game.
Yet here we are.
I did not write a strawman argument. If so, can you please clarify in what way? From what I gathered, your point was that you "legitimately don't understand the whole pony thing. Like, not even a little bit" and that "it just doesn't add up to any kind of logical sense". You said the only thing you can understand is "what some people might get out of weird sexual deviant shit". So I decided to explain to possibly help you understand "the whole pony thing", "even a little bit". I compared the show to quality entertainment aimed for the same demographic that even adults like, with hopes that you will be able to relate to those things and see why some may like MLP. Heck, I even responded to your low-brow comment at the end very directly.

The issue is how freaking obsessive the fandom is.
That is not the issue that James is putting forward, surely. The problem is that I even dare to like the franchise. If your issue is how obsessive bronies are, then I can agree that is a very real issue. It's why I don't go to BronyCon, buy the toys, etc. I think it's way too far, but I don't judge others for doing what they want either. I'm a moderate brony.

This is a Doug Huggem fansite after all.
That's why I said that even I can enjoy action movies (which of course, you didn't quote), meaning I can get a kick out of violence too, because this is after all a Duke Nukem site. My point was to put in perspective the concept of "logical sense" that James mentioned. It's a characteristic that humans defy all the time.
