  1. Dusk

So finally, they fully revealed this game after teasing it for a little while.

To me, it looks like Quake meets Rise of the Triad; the player is flying all over the damn place like in RoTT with a setting reminiscent of Quake and a sprinkle of Max Payne
The graphics seem to be hit or miss; I like the design of the cultist looking guys, but parts of the levels look a bit underdeveloped and lacking shading.
It has three handmade episodes, a survival mode, and a 1-on-1 versus mode.
  2. Diabotical - Arena Shooter

    31 July 2016 - 11:39 AM

Don't let the first two minutes of the kickstarter video completely put you off; just mute the audio or skip past it to get to the real nitty gritty.
Everyone plays as the same character except with skin customization
Maps can be created in-game and with other players (think kinda like Minecraft except you are making FFA or CTF etc etc maps)
The engine was made from the ground up and they are tweaking the hell out of the physics and balance, there's ex arena pros working on it as well.
I like that the art style and levels are pretty minimal; they aren't overly detailed and its fairly easy to tell where paths lead, there isn't an abundance of useless details that just clog your brain.
It is also going to be highly customizable, even right down to the hud
  3. Randy Pitchford presents Desert Bus 2

    12 January 2016 - 06:58 PM

So this was just announced as a real thing
Original game designer Penn Jillette and hype man Randy Pitchford (and Teller is rumored to do voice acting) just announced they are making Desert Bus 2.
It is being designed with charities in mind, and may even have VR.

    Official Announcement

    So wow, that was fast.
Fear is 10 years old now, spanning a history of mediocre to pretty alright sequels and expansions (and a free to play game).
This, for me and I know for many others, is a classic considered parallel to top FPS's like Doom. The clever AI, the slow motion explosion and bullet tracer effects, the penetrator that can pin guys to walls or the particle weapon that instantly evaporates everything and leaves just the skeleton in tact, Alma's presence, the hidden health and reflex upgrades, the glitchy gun sounds that make it seem like your smg is shooting 3 bullets when it only fires one.
Everything culminating into a game that just feels fucking solid.
    Happy Birthday FEAR
  5. Gunload

This is a project I've been working on for a little while now. It's a callback to the classic FPS's of the 90's, with satisfying weapons, the abstract level design, varied enemies, and speed with a few current era features like a light parkour system. The parkour will allow the levels to be even more open with more pathways through the level; imagine if Duke3D let you climb onto ledges.
I'll have weekly updates all leading up into a gameplay reveal;right now the first enemy has been shown off.
I'd like to point out what this game is NOT before more is announced: It is NOT a roguelike- the levels are all being handcrafted, not randomly generated. It will NOT look like Minecraft- nothing will have that blocky look to it. It won't claim to be influenced by 90's games and then only have 20% of its gameplay reminiscent of these classic games.
Let me know what you guys think so far and any ideas or comments.
