  1. Problem with TROR

    Hi folks,

    I started working on my mod again and ran into a problem with TROR. I first created the upper sectors and then created a bunch from the inner sector. So far it worked fine:

    Now I want to create sectors underneath the upper bunch but it doesn´t work. I started drawing lines from one of the points and connected them with other points. Randomly it ends up in "red line sectors" but I cant see or enter them, sometimes I can´t even connect the lines with other points.

    Has been quite a time since I touched Mapster the last time. Did I missed something?

    Here are two screenshots from the upper and lower bunch, if this helps:

  2. Max. tile resolution in .def-files?

    Hi folks,

    I´m wondering what is the maximum resolution I can give a tile in a .def - file.

    IIRC, back in 2012 when I started my HiRes project it was 256 x 256. Has this been increased or is this still the maximum without having problem in Mapster?

    Is there also a maximum resolution for the texture file itself or can I go and use 4096 x 4096 images if I would want to?
  3. Big issue with latest Mapster build (r5568)

    Hi everybody,

    I just wanted to work on a map, but I have a big problem with the latest EDuke-version (r5568 / 64bit / Win 8.1).

    Maybe it is just me, but perhaps anyone else can confirm this behavior:

    The realtime wall manipulation doesn´t work for me in 3D mode. This means neither stretching, panning or shading of a wall does show any effect in 3Dmode while doing it. I have to go to 2Dmode and back to 3Dmode to see any changes which makes it nearly impossible to work.

    Panning/Shading of floors and ceilings work as usual.

    The mapster32.log doesn´t show anything related to this issue.
  4. EDuke32/Mapster32 won´t start on Windows 8.1 anymore

    HELP ME, PLEASE!!!

    I have something strange here on my Win8.1 notebook for some days now. Whenever I create a new folder with EDuke/Mapster in it and try to start it - nothing happens. Windows keeps on loading for ages, but both programs don´t start - even not the EDuke-start menu. EDuke or Mapster don´t appear in the Task Manager, too.

    With new EDuke versions (or better said versions I open for the first time) Windows 8.1 normally tells me, that it doesn´t want to open it until I explicit tell it to do so. After that Avast starts to scan the file for some seconds and then the start menu appears.

    The funny thing is, EDuke and Mapster .exes I´ve opened once and gone through the above mentioned procedure, still open and run without problems.

    I´m sure, the problem is on my side, but I don´t have any idea where to look at to get the files started. I´ve rebooted of course many times and graphics driver are up-to-date.

    I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance.
  5. Issues with newer Mapster32 builds

    Hi folks,

    after a lot of time I decided to get back to work on my EDuke-mod yesterday.

    So I downloaded the latest 64bit builds of EDuke and put them into a copy of my mod folder. After firing up Mapster I noticed some issues. As my mod is one that uses 32bit textures and models, I noticed that all the textures in Mapster look pixalated.

    I know this is a standard for Mapster and 32bit textures since ever. I fixed this years ago by changing gltexfiltermode in mapster32.cfg from 2 to 5, which showed me the textures in the way they are shown ingame.

    By looking into the mapster32.cfg I saw, that gltexfiltermode was reset back to 2 automatically.

    Second issue is the 2D-mode of Mapster. With an older build (r5056) sprites are colored:

    while in the latest ones there are just white placeholders, which makes it impossible to see whether they are blocked or not:

    I´ve tested this issues with builds back to the beginning of July 2015 (r5282) with the same result. The build, where everything works fine is r5056 from March.

    Does anybody else has these issues and/or can somebody tell me how I can solve these problems?
