    There are two other options for loading maps:

    1. The Command Line, which is not easier so i'm not really going to explain this one, since its kinda cumbersome, and slow.

    2. Using the console. Upon loading the game, go to the main menu and hit the tilde ( ` , to the left of the 1) to bring down the console, and type "map mapname" the mapname is the filename of the map. So "map e1l1 " would load the first level of the game.

    User made episodes either come as replacements for an existing episode, or as new maps with con files that overwrite or create a new episode. To run one of these you need to download an episode from the web and either put it into its own folder, and use Eduke32's "mod directory" folder at the start up screen(this may need to be turned on via the options menu within the game before you can see it) or by dumping the contents of a new episode/mappack into the main eduke32 directory. The former is preferred, as it keeps things clean and allows for multiple mods,tc's, and mappacks (episodes) to be kept and changed out on a whim.

    I hope this has been helpful.

    It was, thanks !

    @TX
    Some ports of those games ( like Doom ) have a small launcher where you can auto load maps or chappers from there
    so calm down :P
