For my annual post on this forum, I would like to state the obvious. This Mod is absolutely phenomenal despite a few bugs here and there. A massive thank-you and congratulations to Gambini & Mikko Sandt + anyone else that made this mod possible.

I loved every minute of it, and whilst the end boss was quite easy to defeat (the second attempt mind you.. I ran out of ammo in every gun the first time!) my only complaint would be the lack of ammo in most levels (either that or I'm far too trigger-happy).

My question is has anybody discovered all of the secret area's in each map?? I struggled to find a lot of them and maybe the authors of this Mod could link to or post each of the cheeky secrets that they built into this fine mod.

    Cheers!

So if I have a Steam client installed on my PC,but I go to buy the retail version and want to install from the disc I should uninstall Steam first and install it again later to prevent the game downloading data from Steam ?

I'm new to Steam and DNF is going to be my first thing that uses it so please be patient with me.

There should be no need to uninstall/reinstall Steam. My advice is this.. be sure your internet connection is active (for Steam activation), insert the DNF DVD and run the Setup.exe contained on the disc. Follow the on screen instructions, you'll be fine! ;)

No the files for the game are on the disc. But it will install in steam whether you bought from steam directly or went the store route. Just in the steam case you have to DL from their client whereas with a DISC you install from it & just use steam to play/activate it.

Correct, the DVD contains 4.18GB of data files, if this much data was required for a product key it would be the largest key on earth!

honestly I was ready to buy the game but as I've super wide monitor (eyefinity) it will ruin my experience - I need fov of approx 120 (90 is very minimum) so I've to wait again.

btw does that fix from http://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/ still work on final?

I sure hope so, I can live without most of the other console hacks but a FOV change would be ideal. I'll test FlawlessWS with DNF tonight when I get home (a good 7 hours from now) but hopefully someone can post their results sooner than this..

From what I've seen the gore looks to be more or less the same as the demo. Not really a big deal. They probably turned it off due to performance questions. Much like Doom 3 had many of its features nerfed before it was released.

I agree. There "may" still be hope however, as to get the game running nicely I have got some of the special effects and quality settings dialed down a bit.. Those of you with a high performance Dukebox running AA and all features at max quality may have a different result.. If I weren't at work I'd crank up the settings and post my results..
