    Just tried to play this game for the first time in a year or so, and rediscovered the exact same controller setup issues that have plagued this game for years. With latest version from eduke32 website:

    Problem 1: When launching eduke32, "Input devices" resets itself to keyboard and mouse. I have to keep changing it to "All supported devices" every time I launch the program.

    Problem 2: The default controller settings are always completely fucked up. I know there is no "one size fits all" for this, but some of these values seem like they were picked out of a hat, especially in the Edit Axes section. The deadzones are weird too. Most of the low ends are 18% but then spontaneously one value will be 25%.

    Problem 3: Edit Axes -> Axis 4/5 -> Digital; Changing these digital values always results in the menu system suddenly jumping to a keyboard setup menu.

    Problem 4: By far the most infuriating, every time I launch eduke32, all of my Axes settings are wiped back to the broken defaults. The button and deadzone settings seem to survive, but I recall several years ago these would also spontaneously wipe themselves once a month, or suddenly merge my custom values with the default values.

    Problem 5: The axes tend to "stick" easily, so the player will continue moving in one direction or firing after the joystick/trigger has been released. No amount of toying with scales or deadzones seems to fix this. The controller itself does not have this issue in other compatible programs.

    I'm using one of those Xbox 360 wireless controllers for PC, which is definitely not an obscure piece of equipment. Some of these issues have been addressed before, but they always seem to resurface. On the rare occasions I sit down to play this game, I usually spend an hour trying to set up my controller from scratch again, then quit in frustration before I've even begun playing. Would be great to see some of these issues sorted out in a future revision.
