Topics I've Started

  1. IGN: Scott Miller Discusses DNF's Troubled Development.

    15 October 2018 - 09:26 PM

I had never heard that there were discussions about potentially handing the game over to Digital Extremes before!
  2. Cyberpunk 2077 - A First-Person RPG From CD Projekt Red

    27 August 2018 - 02:08 PM

This game's probably years away but it looks absolutely amazing! One of the best presentations I've ever seen.

  3. Hollywood Reporter: John Cena in Talks to Star in Duke Nukem

    22 January 2018 - 05:36 PM

    Just like the title said.

The wrestler-turned-actor is negotiations to star in Duke Nukem, a big-screen adaptation of the popular video game franchise featuring the politically incorrect action hero that is set up at Paramount.

Platinum Dunes, the company run by Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, will produce the movie.

No director is on board at this stage. A search for a writer will begin soon to develop a script for what is intended to be a star vehicle for Cena.

Sounds like this project is in the very early stages if a script isn't even ready.

  4. Former SEGA CEO Teams Up with 3D Realms on Shadow Stalkers

    20 October 2017 - 07:21 PM

Hmm... I guess most of us missed this. Back in July, 3D Realms announced they were collaborating on a title called Shadow Stalkers, an episodic, "emergent, action-adventure stealth espionage” game featuring two major Hollywood stars, with the Jordan Freeman Group and ZOOM. Back on that trans-media kick! It's running on UE4, with each episode featuring a guest star, and is set to be released for PC,Mac, Linux, and PS4 in 2018.

There's scant details available beyond the press release.

Scott Miller: “All of us at 3D Realms are super excited to develop this game, which we see as a delicious blend of James Bond, Max Payne, and Hitman, with unique ingredients added in to make it even more tasty. If there’s one thing 3D Realms has a history of, it’s coming up with unique types of gameplay. We plan to put the same innovative efforts into Shadow Stalkers.”

Jordan Freeman: “It is with great pleasure that we announce Shadow Stalkers. We are ecstatic to be collaborating on the project with legendary 3D Realms. As an independent company, 3D Realms’ stellar track record of successful original intellectual properties speaks for itself. From Max Payne to Prey to Duke Nukem, their success is unparalleled. We are also excited to announce that we have been in extended discussions with Xsolla Capital to launch the project.

“Shadow Stalkers will prove monumental in the history of video games for several reasons. It will be the first time ever that a game was conceived directly with the talent first before going to a publisher and it will be the first time a game features guest stars in each episode much like a TV show would. Last but not least, Shadow Stalkers will re-define the Trans-Media Intellectual Property Eco-System by converging entertainment mediums and releasing a successful hybrid product combining the best of all worlds.”
  5. Human Head Studios Announces Rune: Ragnarok

    28 August 2017 - 01:17 PM

    Posted Image

In 2000, Human Head Studios released Rune, an action adventure built in the Unreal Engine and featuring a hack-and-slashing Viking named Ragnar. Since then, the studio has developed a number of games including 2006's Prey and has contributed to others like Bioshock Infinite and Batman: Arkham Origins. Today it's announcing a return to its roots. A sequel to Rune is in the works, an open world RPG called Rune: Ragnarok. There's a teaser trailer above.

Ragnarok is "set in a dangerous Norse universe during the end of days" and places players "in the middle of an epic battle where gods, beasts, and the last remaining humans struggle to survive" according to Human Head Studios' press release.

"After seventeen years, we are thrilled to finally announce a new Rune game," says project director Chris Rhinehart. "In the spirit of the original, Rune: Ragnarok has intense and brutal combat in a world steeped in Norse mythology. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve created."
