  1. Samsung monitor touch buttons gone crazy

    16 April 2016 - 10:50 AM

All of a sudden the screen settings menu showed up on my screen and then went away and now the red power light flashes and no button works at all. Iīm afraid I wonīt be able to turn it on again once i turn the pc off, so i want to ask for help.

My screen is a SyncMaster P2350, 6 years old. It works like a charm but all of a sudden i get this.

These are no actual buttons, itīs a sort of touchpad in lower right corner of the monitorīs frame. none of them work at all.

Any help will be appreciated. Googling about it prompts me to smartphone problems which are unrelated.
  2. Odd pieces of a First Person Shooter games collection.

    14 January 2014 - 10:43 PM

Well, having played already most FPS games I´ve ever wanted to play, i get to have in my list those that are not available on DRM sites or not available at all. I believe that if a game isn´t available for buying online, it´s morally acceptable to pirate it, at least until it appears online at a reasonable price. With the fall of Megaupload, I think finding trustable pirated games has become a difficult task.

The following games are not available on no site and I´m looking for a pirated alternative, if you happen to know where i could get trustable downloads for these or others, share. Again, this only applies to games that can´t be legally purchased:

    Turning Point: Fall of Liberty
    Chernobyl Terrorist Attack
    Mortyr 1 to 4

I know some of them are bad, yet i want to try them anyway. There´s some charm on playing bad games, they always have something to offer. Sometimes is enough to dig into their shit a little bit to discover a nice story, or nice levels, etc. I have trustable downloads (hope they´re still available) for No one lives forever 1 and 2 and to Contract JACK. Those are also unavailable but are great pieces that deserve to be played.

Please refrain to refer to sites like Amazon. I´m not buying a retail game, pay shipment and custom taxes just for some morbid gaming.
  3. Leaving Internet Explorer 8...

    10 June 2013 - 02:56 PM

Well, as only a few may know: I´m a stubborn IE user. I´m writting this post in IE right now. For years people have been making fun of my choice but I never ever found their reasons valid. They said FF was faster and safer and that Chrome was better and such... But I never noticed differences (yes, I have them installed). Now It´s time to move. I use Internet Explorer 8 with the in-private filter (which is just like Adblock) and the Google Toolbar but lately things like Google Images and Youtube have become much faster and simpler to use in Chrome.

In short, I´m trying to set my Chrome to work like my Explorer, so I can finally wave the bye bye. There are two things I can´t manage it to do:
    - One is the instant Google toolbar translator and measures conversor. It´s something stuck in the toolbar, if there´s a word I don´t understand I just move the mouse over it and a little yellow window shows the word translated to my language. It does the same with pounds, miles, etc: just highlighting the bit -for example 88 mph- will show this little yellow window with a metrical conversion. It´s also perfect for grammar and spell checking as I dont even have to right-click on words. Selecting a sentence, or even a paragraph of any language will make this little yellow window pop up with an excelently well written translation, i dont even have to select the language.

    - The other thing is dragging images into photoshop. Usually when I´m making textures or skins I google for some stuff, for example a screw. Once I find it I click on the direct link and then drag the image over to photoshop. It automatically generates a new layer with this image, simple as it. Well, If I try to do it with Chrome I get a forbidden symbol.

I´d like to know if any of you know of good replacements for those things. I´ve some plugins installed, among those, Instant Translate, but it requires to highlight, right-click on the word and click on "translate". That´s like three steps against none in IE.

EDIT: One last thing I hate from all browsers except IE is the regular font (the one you´re seeing while reading this post). Explorer has a much more nice font, a bit thicker than the others and with blunt angles. Both Chrome and Firefox has this sharp and thin font with a crappy shadow that I hate.
  4. RELEASE: The Thing (By Loke)

    09 May 2013 - 04:15 PM

It seems like Loke made this awesome thing but forgot to tell people to play it:

    Posted Image

Itīs an extremely detailed and awesome looking map based on the The Thing movie. The only problem is that it has no action.

I tried to let some people know about this but it seems my attemps gone unnoticed.

  5. RELEASE: DUKE NUKEM FOREVER

    29 April 2013 - 09:09 PM

Itīs so good that we wonīt have to deal with all the whining anymore! At least not the one we got used in the past few days.

Please keep this topic clean of all the stuff the the trailer thread was full of.

Authorisation can take a while... But thereīs nothing i can do about that.

EDIT: DOWNLOAD DUKE NUKEM FOREVER from MSDN.

It took me a while to figure out what the avatar was. I originally shot it too fast and then went to find the tile and giggled :P

Hey, I saw something on Steam about you giving me a gift but the window was all black with only your name visible in blue. So, I'm not sure what you gave me but thanks for the appreciation!
