Good thing is that eduke32's main focus is bringing out these source-level changes to CON files.

I am well aware of that, but i suck at CON coding in general. The greatest thing i ever done with was some basic editing in USER.CON and DEFS.CON. Only thing i ever did at modifying GAME.CON was changing some monsters' projectiles and amount of health Duke gets while drinking water. Not to mention even more advanced EDuke32 CON features which i absolutely have no clue or experience how to use or implement them. This why i kept these beta recreation stuff on vanilla duke3d 0.99 basis to have more authentic behavior as possible. While Macrolino\Marcos EDuke32 based Duke Nukem 3D BETA 0.60 mod that he lost had much more promising look and behavior even in EDuke32 than mine vanilla duke3d 0.99 based mod. But Marcos knew what he was doing, while i based everything on basic simple methods of editing.

Well i was thinking to add some trivia as well. On this screenshot you see E1L6 Launch Facility comparation between versions.

As you can see, that underwater gate\door\vent\whatever it is had changes between versions. Plus the fact that 1.3D was first that had that little additional secret area containing ammunition that had to be found by pressing a hidden wall-masked door at the other side of this acid area. Not to mention that pallete color doesn't change to green\yellow immediately when you dive under acid sector in pre-1.3D version, you had to either to grab the shotgun or get hurt in order pallete to change. In v1.3D engine automatically detected the green acid floor and therefor it will use green\yellow immediately whenever you dive below an acid sector This is not case however with normal blue water underwater sectors that always change screen pallete to purple, even with v1.0\ v1.1\ v1.2 so only acid\green\yellow pallete was glitched at that point.

Note also that underwater gate\door\vent\whatever it is, in v1.0 and v1.1 had an metal part which was removed in v1.2 and v1.3D, but additional secret doesn't exist even in v1.2 though.

The fixed v0.7 is blocked because the firewall note it as a virus. I checked v0.99 instead, and it's a useless crap. You basically added the final levels of episode 2 and 3 and swapped Flood Zone and LA Rumble with Sweeney and Sewer. This is not an actual beta, but a hackwork.

I've removed your links, went through a few of them and saw that you're re-packaging full version content, which is not acceptable.
I did not check all of them but for anything you wish to share, do NOT use content from the full version (i.e. 1.3d / 1.5).

Duke3D however permits sharing map modifications of the original files provided that they are only usable on full versions of said games.
In your case you've made them work with distributed shareware/pre-release binaries,
To be clear, even this ruling is in good faith and assumes that maps are mostly used as a reference or starting point for some original content, not intended for bulk copy-pasting.

Regardless, I would also attempt to make it clear on respective README.TXT files that these are homebrew modifications / hacks to existing binaries or files.
Only pre-release versions that exist (in circulation & verified) are lameduke and 0.99. - Rest is pure speculation.
It's not a good thing to have these being passed as false positive leaks.


I recommend that you add a readme file that states what it is (fan made modification) and create a way to install (or binary patch existing retail files)

If you have a new distribution ready, we can discuss editing the message in the front page and adding those in :)

Yes in very first post of this thread i have noted "if i am doing something wrong please feel free to delete the posts, links, thread, etc." Though my older beta 0.99 modification from year 2018 wasn't deleted so i thought its not problem to upload 0.99 with several v1.3D resources not all of them. Anyway i am just bit surprised and confused that my older link from year 2018 wasn't deleted back then if contained warez. This is what made me think that doing same thing again wouldn't be a problem. But thanks for fixing up my mistake, though i don't see why v1.2 shareware and v1.5 shareware are deleted though since they contained episode one only. @ The Watchtower , well i don't get it why some people got that virus message on 0.70 beta, for me it worked fine. Probably false positive virus notification.Oh and about 0.995 i already noted in brackets that its essentially the same as 0.99 except with addition that contains fixed E1L4 and E3L3 and E3L4 being replaced with Flood Zone and LA Rumble. Ah you meant actual 0.99, yes it does contain Sweeney and Sewer. and yes BTW this thread Beta 0.99 Mod\TC already suggests it's a hack work and not actual beta.

Yes, some might have slipped by. But like you suspected, it's not ok to share that stuff as-is :)

If you have more distributions with full-content, I kindly ask that you contact us (i.e. report post) and we can handle it.
I removed all the links for now since I didn't have time to go through each individual post in the thread and boot them ingame.
If you have "safe" ones (shareware content) then we can restore those to the original post (and the latest one for instance), no problem.
Binary patching or other methods are my best suggestion I can give.

For version notes: I would recommend adding something yes. It's way too easy for people re-distribute these online and end up with false positive "official / leak" status. If for example the readme existed there and you wish to keep it intact, you can use whatever other name you see fit. Main point is that it should be clear at least somewhere in the distribution that it's an unofficial one. Keep in mind that this is not something I wish to enforce but something I would very much like to see.

I'm open to discussing further in PM to avoid derailing this thread further.

I think us Beta Bryans are starving to see the various modifications in the maps, the original L6 when it was the biggest, the various levels like Warp Factor, Dark Side, Hotel Hell, Rabid Transit etc. with their removed content, the state of Shop-N-Bag when Levelord left it, and such like these, not hacky stuff like the final levels in old builds with lots of unfinished elements.

Well 0.70 did contained sorta some kind of how Warp Factor would look liked in pre-release screenshots, but still not much.

Well here i agree 100% with you. But i still strongly believe that true Betas will get released one day, somehow, just like the case was with Shadow Warrior Betas. When that happens i can't even imagine how Duke4.net community fans going to be happy. Me personally, i am more fan of those builds closer to retail 1.3D such as 0.99, v1.0, v1.1. This is why i was making those shitty beta hacks in first place.

Optionally, you can use DNENDING cheat code after beating E2L6 and E3L6 as they don't have exit Nuke Button, but they have bosses.
If your anti-virus for some reason detects this as a malware threat or something it's likely false positive.
