Hello everybody, when im playing Eduke32 there's this annoying pitch noise that keeps playing on and on, its most notable (for me alteast) when im testing my map
is there a way to solve this?
i've only had this happen on Eduke32 , Doesn't happen in Megaton edition or world tour.

Bandicam (free version) gives you 10 mins of recordin (per vid) with watermark on top.
so you can use that to record a vid of the issues.
etc

Try the following tests to narrow it down:
-Turn off all game sound and music and see if it still happens
-If that gets rid of it, turn on one or the other till you know which it is
-If it's music, find out if it is a specific track, or whether it is midi
-If it's game sound, make a copy of your map with all sound-making sprites deleted, see if the sound still happens
-If that gets rid of it, add back the sound sprites until it starts again

possibly the same thing I complained about awhile ago - is it like some kind of echo chamber feedback - as if you're in a cave behind a waterfall?
iirc, it does seem to occur more often in natural cavern type settings - especially in the caves sperating rooftops, & to get to the upper-most rooftop in Episode 3's Flood Zone
i took my master volume down off 100% and that seemed to relieve it
I stopped updating my snapshot when the team started screwing with the mapster color scheme and such, so I can't verify and have no grounds to pursue the issue.
I also assumed my audio card (ASUS pci-e Xonar DX 7.1) was just being a cunt (which is still a good probability)

That would be a reason to stop updating mapster, but not eduke32.

Let me clarify - that wasn't a reason, it was a time reference.

What happens if you open the console ~ and enter the command r_showfps 60 ?

Btw, check the tiles.cfg included with snapshots. Near the bottom it has how to get the old appearance.
