Thanks to the guys from The Postmortem for finding this stuff.

Still Life with a Curtain by Paul Cézanne

L'Arithmétique

Sano di Pietro's Madonna and Child

Three Graces

I also managed to find this one
It's a part of a Bayeux Tapestry

These pictures look like they could have a real life source. Maybe someone will recognize them.

These were probably drawn for the game but I may be wrong.

I have always wondered about some of these myself. I was only really aware of the Three Graces, thanks for showing me what some of the others were.

I had thought that perhaps "Whistler's Mother" was an inspiration for the second unknown one, but it is too great a difference to be a match.

Thanks for sharing and reminding me.

Are there any more sources online at all?

That's what I'd really like to know. The only thing I found is that tapestry ship. No luck with the rest.

IIRC I heard a couple of years ago about a cellphone app or maybe some google search function that does photo recognition. It scours the web for a similar looking pic to your's. I never really looked into it. It might come in handy from time to time.

Basically, Google's reverse image search. The quality of these sprites is too shitty for that kind of thing.

It's not just the quality of textures, it seems like they did a composition pass, to ensure everything they brought in matched the palette they choose. I haven't found Googles Reverse Image search to be robust enough to handle even small palette changes in the image.

Nice find! Who is that exactly?

Kevin Kilstrom's wife

Also, if you wanted a high res version with the colors of the painting...

Posted Image

This is what I used to make the upscale that Besli pasted the photo over. The one thing that was left untouched was the frame which I had ironically talked about redoing with less noise...

Hmmm not a texture, but close enough. IMO this is the source they used for their vase.

Yo all may think that I'm crazy or something...but right until this day I thought that this picture of "Kevin Kilstrom's wife" is something completely different!

I never paid attention to this picture, so I always thought that this picture is not a girl, but a half-turned cultist holding a gun!
See what I mean here:

Can you see it now? Am I the only one who saw images like this like it's something else, and finally deciphered it decades later? :(

Aw, that's actually sweet. I never expected something so genuinely wholesome to be in Blood, haha.
