Let say this one (r4584) and older and maybe few newers versions after r4584.
everything works fine.
Label limits is 11264.
But as for r6348
I get too many labels error but on older and one I use of "August 31, 2014" it works fine.
11235 / 11264 labels (11235 total) for the r4584.
Probably will be 11237 (once I add the 2 endgame clips sounds) because sounds count as label (defines) or something.
Older has a larger limit such as 11264. New one or r6348 and maybe few before has lower limit.
The r6348 does not show the limits.
I ran a test for my mod on the newest Eduke32 just out of curiousity because my Eduke32 r4584 asked that there is an update.
PS my Eduke is 64 bit cus my machine is 64bit.
32 is a habit.

There are internally defined labels that count toward the maximum. I do not believe there is a way to hit the limit without doing something very, very wrong somewhere.

some sprites, enemies, effects, events etc.. (has defines) like the normal actor/effects etc.
lots of effects have
ifspritepal 1 (do something)
ifspritepal 2 (do a different thing)
you know, kinda like many sprites in 1.
some have physical different shape when different pal number,
since an actor can hold 250 + 0 = 251 pals, it saves lots.
I have lots of effects and most of them are in different pals like I explained above
as for sounds.

I feel like we should allow an infinite number of labels because they should have no effect on the compiled bytecode.

yes, infinity would be nice..
AMC mod is probably approaching limits cus massive amount of levels, effects etc.

final boss in my mod only have 4 different sprites but each has several pals (for different shape) so looks like it has hundreds of different sprites but only have 4 different sprites.
