Can anyone tell me what this error indicates: Unable to set failsafe video mode!
On a Windows 7 machine that I have been using to play Duke Nukem 3D for quite some time, suddenly EDuke32 won't launch.

Also what is your Eduke32 version and yes the Eduke32.log is important.
How many bit your windows has.

Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit. I'm not sure how to tell which version of the eduke32 binary I have installed, but it has been working fine for many months. As to the log file, suddenly I am unable to replicate the problem. The duke started just fine, after many failed attempts and a couple of reboots. If it happens again, I will undertake saving the log file.

What year is your Eduke32 (64 bits as for your windows)
Usually you see that when you check your file, size, type, date created, date modified etc.
And can be little easier to track down its version.
Let say your Eduke is 01-26-2016 and we goto the download folder from the site and find the one with that year and we can try to find its version.
Usually the eduke32.log is created.
When is not created like an older Eduke32 I had issues is usually due to instant crash or some prob that prevented it for creating a Eduke32.log file.

You're using a fairly old build of EDuke32. Try this: http://dukeworld.duk...0161204-5948.7z
