So I've been listening to the Dev Commentary, and the aliens in AWO were going to team up with ISIS? That sounds fucking awesome (and also stupid, but so is destroying world landmarks for an alien world order).

I wish they would further expand on the Duke lore. Could be some really interesting shit.

The last thing Duke lore needs is ISIS. ;)

It already has an alien invasion that uses the wombs of women... not a far cry if I do say.

I didn't take that as a serious thing they were considering when listening to the dev commentary, but tone is always an interesting thing to interpret. Blum and Levelord both seem pretty laidback/good humored.

I couldn't resist. The moment I got my hands on WT I had to bring over my favorite TC for D3D.

Holy shit! Great work! Moloch poked his head out over at amcwebforms after the release of WT wondering about whether it could be done, and now it has. Whether he bothers to come back and see the outcome is a different matter.

Goddamnit! Playing this game on Co-op is crap! Constantly crashes to desktop! I notice it happens slightly less frequently if I'm on Classic graphics than 3D mode, though. I haven't finished a single episode without it happening, though.

I was playing Eps 1 Level 3 says I was missing one, I checked the replay and notice that the Red Trooper did not come back when he teleported, I shot him as he was teleporting

Troopers will stay cloaked unless certain conditions are met. If you don't enter a certain distance range or if you are looking in his direction, then he can remain in the cloaked state forever (even if shot). This is true in all versions of Duke 3D.

I never discovered exactly how the cloaked trooper worked, but whenever one disappears I just run to the opposite side of where I was standing past where he was standing and do a 180 and he appears right back where he was.

I'm noticing slight lags when something big is triggered or if I entered a spectacular area. Also, it's quite annoying when I alt-tab out of the game and the game becomes windowed.

Just as a reminder: Here's my current list of World Tour issues, updated with the recently reporter problem regarding minibosses having full boss strengths and E5L2 dev commentary intended for E5L3.

I have to wonder how Randy can keep replying to these kinds of people https://twitter.com/...844947856625664

'Duke isn't very good business, but I do it out of love.' This mother fucker right here...

It could be good business if you put the time and money in to it instead of doing another release of Duke3D. I don't think Randy sees that the problem is him, not anyone else. "everyone thinks im a total asshole with poor business ethics all because of (insert reason)!"

He did it out of love, that's why the audio quality is complete fucking arse, where it really could be fixed in the span of a day.

Maybe he's talking about tough love.

I guess it could be like one of those relationships where the guy beats his wife, but then says he loves her and will buy her something nice the next day, only to then get drunk again and beat the shit out of her even more.

"I love you Shannon!" He slurs as he smashes her face into the kitchen window, "I'll buy you a new cooker tomorrow!"

Probably some kind of insurance policy for Randy so he can keep the Duke IP where others have failed. Beat your a woman and she'll keep coming back, treat her nice and she'll just think you're a pussy and leave your ass... But not before taking your seed and stealing half your shit.

Oh, by the way, trigger warning... shit... too late.

You can add incorrect file placement :
-useless EDuke32 file name.h left into the root folder
-E5L03 devcommentary put inside the E5L2 devcommentary folder and named "E5L02[...]"

Also
- After freezing an Octobrain on fire and letting him back to normal, he'll be back with the red palette (but without burning). haven't tested with other enemies.

I wish I could precisely define the weird glitch I got with Liztroop and Fireflies spawning a texture#0 gib.

Also I have seen a ton of small level design nitpicking quirks, although it's mostly the same issues repeated throughout the entire episode (blocking sprites that shouldn't be blocking, incorrect door/elevator sound use, and texture misalignement or other minor texture oversights).

I don't know if it plays in-game, but there's a line of dialogue that's actually a set up for the punchline that the ending tries to be.
Spoiler

Ah gotcha. I haven't played through yet. But was playing Zero Hour and caught that.

The Assault Captain turns invisible, intangible (excluding explosion radius), moves randomly then stops. When you get close to him, he will turn visible and tangible again.

Added. The thing with the commentary was actually already there.

In folder sound\DevCommentary

This is incorrect though. The E5L02 devcommentary folder holds the devcommentary soundfiles for both E5L02 and E5L03; and the E5L03 ones are named after E5L02

That actually makes a lot of sense, I was confused when I listened to the files individually from the folders.

Looking at the maps in Mapster32 to find anything I may have missed.

At the start of Mirrage Barrage there is a teleporter that you're only supposed to access in DM. But by jumping on enemies, you can use it in SP as well.

I doesn't seem to be possible to make the teleporter SE DM only, even when using their new palette system for DM/COOP (which seem to only work for Touchplates).

Edit : I also just realized one thing I find really confusing. As noted by Hendricks

New touchplate settings: pal 2 is co-op only, and pal 3 is Dukematch-only. This is in addition to pal 1 being single-player only. Some Alien World Order maps cannot be completed in EDuke32 without my code to take care of this.

Which is on top of different palette switches except it's not coherent. PAL1 switches are DM only, while here it's PAL3 Touchplates which are DM only, while the pal1 T are for SP only. It's a nice new addition though and it's no big deal, but I just find a little more confusing than it should be, when I first looked at the Touchplates located at the start of Bloody Hell I was very confused about which was supposed to do what because I am used to the palette system of switches.

The touchplate stuff actually made E5L2 and E5L5 unplayable in SP (without cheating) due to walls put up to keep the players in the starting areas in Dukematch. Luckily the Compatibility Stopgap by Hendricks fixes that issue ;)

You mean it wasn't playable in EDuke32 before EDuke32 supported WT ;)

I don't think the walls at the start of E5L2 are supposed to keep the players in the room. On the contrary, the touchplates even open a sidepath that's non existent in SP. The thing is, you 3 touchplates, 1 for each mode including SP, and they weren't yet supported when you tried it.

I'm thinking how cool these new Touchplates are by the way. For instance it means that you can have DM-only stuff (like teleporters) trigger without ressorting to silly switches, or ressorting to other means like making the 2nd DM/COOP player spawn in a different room which has a touchplate AND a teleporter bringing him to the play area.

They should have thought about it 20 years ago; and actually, I don't know why they even still used DM-only switches in NWO, for instance at the start of E5L4.

If WT ever gets the 3 add-ons as DLC, these touchplates would make the multiplayer compatibility map edits for them much better and easier.

If this becomes a standard EDuke32 behaviour it's a nice thing.
Especially when EDuke32 gets working mutliplayer again.

Edit : I'm not sure how Allen Blum created a teleporter which only works/appears after a switch is pressed (in the main chamber once the 5 elements puzzle is completed) and why he didn't do something similar but DM only for this teleporter at the start of the map. If anyone knows...

It looks like you can shrink the large Mini-bosses multiple times in a row if you attack them while they're shrunk. Sadly, it caps at a certain point.

Also, is there any specific reason they changed DNKROYZ into DNGOD?

Kroz was a series of games by Scott Miller in the 80's.

Interestingly they didn't remove the codes relating to Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure and Major Stryker... So why Kroz?
