Nuclear Showdown mod: I can't change weapons!

#1

I've tried two different versions of Nuclear Showdown on EDuke32, and in both of them, pressing any of the number keys doesn't change from one weapon to the other even if I have ammo for them. Duke just switches to the freaking kick.

How do I fix this?

They say that Nuclear Showdown is a pretty broken mod, but with "two versions" you mean you already tried even the less buggy version included in the addon compilation?

I think that was the version I tried running first....

And as for addon compilations, I haven't seen one. Any chance you could direct me to it?

Get if from the bottom of the HRP download section. I am not sure however if I did anything about the issue you have described. Also, don't try to run Nuclear Showdown with recent EDuke32 snapshots. The code is broken and many features don't work at all.

In upcoming version 2.0 of the compilation, Nuclear Showdown will actually be removed. It will stay like that until someone is able to make it fully work with EDuke32 once more.

Even if downloaded as an .exe actually It is not an executable but a compressed file so just don't click directly on but open it using any archive tool by dragging the icon on the program.

Thanks.

Kind of sucks to hear that it was broken....stuff like the alternate HUDs, rescuing trapped babes and multiple weapons per slot actually interest me (the idea of Duke hot-swapping between his standard pistol, a Desert Eagle and friggin' Uzis is something that I WISH I could do in vanilla D3D).

If you like saving babes, be sure to check out James' subsequent project, the AMC TC if you haven't already.
