from youtube description: "This is a longer video of my WIP Duke Forces TC which shows a bit of Doomcity, followed by a complete playthrough of Hollywood Holocaust. Duke Forces works with all regular Duke 3D maps but replaces textures, sprites, sounds etc with Star Wars content."

Every level has mild, exploration music, and then action music which plays when enemies are active. Just like in Jedi Outcast *cough *cough.
But I think it works better in a game like Outcast where there are well-defined battles. In Duke, it's common to come across one or two weak enemies, then be enemy free for 10 seconds, then have another little skirmish etc. I'll play around with it. I'll try out making an active enemy threshold, so that the action music isn't triggered by a single stormtrooper (unless the player is near death). It will be more complicated to code, but probably worth it.

I like that music effect, reminds me of System Shock 2.

Speaking of Doomcity, will this release come bundled with some preferred maps that it's been especially tested and tailored for? Also, are there going to be any new maps, or Dark Forces style maps?
It looks great as a gameplay mod in general as is of course.

Currently it doesn't seem that anyone is actively working on new maps. So, for the first release, it's likely that it will be bundled with some user maps, as you suggest. I will try to get permission in cases where it is still possible to contact the map authors (although the mod does nothing to alter the map files).

At this point it is more like basic level geometry work with a huge lack of details, proper texturing and lighting/shading.
Anyways, here are some early WIP-screenshots:

That's an old usermap. By
I guess that Dan was showcasing how well his vanilla duke textures replacement works.
His TC as it is right now - Weapon/Enemy/Texture replacements - will be released in a few days according to moddb. It will come with a few usermaps as well (like the one showed on the video).

The map is V5 by Ryan Isenberg. It seems to have been his last map. His readme says that it was the third in a planned 6 map episode...but that's how it goes. I love this map because there are many different routes you can take to the end and it has many destructible walls. It looks pretty good, too.
This first release of Duke Forces will _not_ have a story mode, but it does come with an episode entitled "Duke Forces" that includes this map and others, in order to showcase the mod. You can also play the standard episodes 1 - 3.
