Having played around with the Mac demo of Duke Nukem 3D recently, I was quite pleasantly surprised to discover that EDuke32 (v2.0.0devel r5581 32-bit) recognizes the Mac demo GRP as such and runs it. However, the Mac-specific cheat codes (DNMACS and DN1984) seem to be not included, at least with the Windows build of EDuke32. Is there any chance they would be implemented? Or is there something that prevents the 1984 commercial video from playing back properly on Windows?

On a related note, the original Mac demo includes functional fake multiplayer with bots, whereas in DOS shareware v1.3d the bot AI is missing. However, with the latest version of EDuke32, any attempts to launch fake multiplayer with either the DOS shareware or the Mac demo GRP result in glitchy behaviour that is basically unplayable.

In case details are needed, the player is gibbed immediately upon spawning, although it is still possible to turn around and fire weapons, but not to move. Bots seem to be completely inactive and don't respawn.

I used the following command line parameters to activate fake multiplayer:

eduke32.exe -q2 -a -m -tx -v1 -l2

I have quickly Googled the forums here on this issue but haven't found any recent posts concerning the fake multiplayer mode.

Yeah...because the old-MP code just too old, lacks of maintenance and caused full of bugs...and it will be replaced by the new Server/Client MP design...just not yet happened for sure.

But Hendricks266 made a "cobbled" version with some fixes into that version for whose want to the old-MP support(but it still based on very old version of eduke32 and lacks many new features in recently versions).
