I first wanted to ask this in the EDuke32 forum, but I guess here it would be more appropriate.

R.T.C.M. has several DOS EDuke packages in addition to the 2.0 patch available from 3D Realms' FTP. However, all those seem to be intended for use with the registered version 1.5 of the game. I just wanted to ask, has there ever been a EDuke DOS version released publicly that could be used with the shareware release of the game?

Nope, there's no DOS EDuke for the shareware. The whole point of EDuke originally was to expand the ability to make mods, and mods were forbidden by the shareware license IIRC.

I was going to mention cDuke3D, but I forgot that it is for Windows.
