Monster Bash out now on GOG.com

#1

One of Apogee's games is available on GOG.com. Get it for $5.99 here: http://www.gog.com/game/monster_bash

Does anyone remember playing this back then? And BTW will the source code to this game be released under GPL sometime?

This looks familiar, but I don't think I ever actually played it.
I remember playing a lot of similar games in elementary school, stuff like Duke Nukem I and II and other games similar to it that used math to destroy enemies.

This doesn't use math to destroy anything this game is pure awesomeness.
I always wondered why it isn't as popular as commander keen is because to me this game is the definition of dos side scrollers.
Back when all side scrollers with a kid in them would be about cute harmless things on the consoles, on pc a game with a kid in his pajamas would start out cute with saving dogs and cats but also feature guts, gibs and blood in it, which is why I always thought the pc games were so much mature than console games.

Hey, when I was a preschooler I thought Word Rescue and Math Rescue were fun.

In my school we had those Super Solvers games by The Learning Company like Treasure Mountain, Treasure Mathstorm. I brought Math Rescue in one day to install on the computers and it wouldn't work. I was very frustrated.

This is great, I've never had the full version of this game before. I will most certainly buy it as soon as pay day arrives.

Oh, and this talk about Math and Word Rescue is great :P
I remember having the shareware versions on my stepdads 486. Loved those games.

Next to LGX Attack Chopper, those were the first DOS games I ever played. (I didn't play Duke Nuk(u)em until 93 I think.)

[EDIT]

I'll have to take that back. after looking up Math Blaster I actually remember playing New Math Blaster Plus! before the rescue games. :P
Gosh this is neat, I never remembered what the game was called until now. the trash zapper part is the one I remember the most.
