And they got Rick Hunter back for more, good decision.

Then again, Postal 2 always just felt good.

Running With Scissors' work with Gary was well before my time (I was in junior high when P2 was originally released), but from what I've heard from those who were there, he was an entertaining and fun individual to work with who supported RWS in the earliest of days, and RWS definitely remains loyal to those who showed their appreciation in the past. Contrary to rumors, Gary even did want to be in the Uwe Boll Postal film, but unfortunate communication issues prevented that from happening. While I didn't know him personally, I'd like to think he'd enjoy his continued role in the Postal series and the delightfully goofy antics he's become a part of.

They are new (as in, not in vanilla Postal 2) recordings from Gary, right? Like maybe unreleased recordings from way back when? That's the only thing I find chilling about it, he passed away over 4 years ago

I'm very interested in seeing this project come to fruition. I love Postal 2 and applaud this project.

These are not new Gary lines, and I don't believe there are any unreleased recordings still in the RWS archives. P2 has always possessed a number of what are effectively unused Gary lines that either don't play or only rarely play due to a quirk of the coding.

Paradise Lost will be an errand-based, free roam, Monday-Friday game like Postal 2, and I'm making certain you can successfully complete a no-kill Jesus run. Doing things the peaceful way won't always be so simple, though!

I'm afraid we don't have the rights to use the likenesses of the Postal film or even the Postal III guest celebrities. Some familiar faces may still yet appear, nonetheless.

Ask Uwe, I'm very sure he will allow the inclusion of himself.

I'm the Design Lead on this project, although to be clear, I was only brought on recently after interning for a few months testing the recent big Steam updates. The rest of the current core team, the veteran P2 modders I mentioned earlier, have been working for a bit over a year to make P2 on Steam a reality.

That probably won't be the case this time around as the DLC won't be merged into the base game as AW was. However, I'm sure there will be interest in seeing the new PL content be useable in vanilla P2 somehow, probably through modding, but we'll see how that works out when it comes time. Any technical engine improvements or general bug fixes made during the development of PL will certainly backported to the normal P2 game, though.

Still in the top 20 as of this post. Good job, RWS.
On the game itself, it's definitely still Postal 2, all the cheap shots, QUALITY use of the Unreal engine, and classy one-liners are all there. Can't really say much more, but I've been having fun!

I wonder if Karma could be replaced with another physics engine. Is this possible? (Pretty sure it is, I've seen other Unreal Engine 2 / 2.5 games replace Karma with Havok. Warpath being one of them. I'm certain Mequon/NVidia PhysX is another possibility.)

Yep, POSTAL 2's decade old ban is unfortunately still in effect in New Zealand and Australia. Actually, the game was originally available in these regions when it first hit Steam in late 2012, but people sent complaint tickets to Steam's support and had it blocked again. If this is still preventing you from purchasing the game, I'm afraid I don't have a specific solution to offer. I do know we are now getting Steam keys out to other on-line sellers like The Humble Store and Green Man Gaming, but I'm not sure if you or anyone else in the same predicament would be able to buy the game from them either.

I imagine the licensing fees and code implementation would be far too cost and time prohibitive to even consider, especially for such an old engine. What we have now isn't completely unworkable, just terribly fussy. Running With Scissors will most definitely move on to something more modern, namely the very enticing UE4, when the time comes. However, we'll still spend some time giving POSTAL 2 it's one final hurrah.

Wait, what? I've always been able to purchase Postal 2 on Steam, yet I'm Australian. I recently bought Paradise Lost without issues as well.
