That's a project that will definitely get a C&D from Bethesda.

That English. That fucking English. My stomach hurts from laughter.

"If you keep all of good doom, you have doom. This is much obvious.
Other things, not doom, they suck. We not have them."
Whether he's being genuine or parody, that's kind of a good parody of the usual stuff people say relating to sequels of oldschool shooters in general.

I wish those guys on doomworld had more patience and a sense of humor, because that could have gotten really glorious.

Apparently this is legit and not something fan-made. I thought some people might be interested in the musical direction that the game could possibly be heading towards. Can't say I dig it myself though.

Mix it up a bit. If you are going to strictly adhere to the old game as far as props and monsters, at least present some new levels that show off what you can do with a modern engine. Redesign Hell for next gen - but keep it a Doom level. Modern effects and design, old-school gameplay. I personally would want to update the critters and props a bit. "What if they had today's tech back then, what would it look like?" Don't be afraid to make it bigger and bolder.

Your assuming this guy could make quality work even if the idea was sound, I think he is just bad at gamedev. People that are usually good at making games, usually steer clear away from projects that would end in a C&D

No reason to pre-order this early, I haven't seen any goodies, and they won't run out of digital copies

I pre-ordered Wolf as well just to get into the Doom beta's, but just saying I don't see anything that would get me to pre-order this early. As the release date comes closer(like within a month) I'll probably put in my pre-order so I can download it a few days before the release but that's at least what I'm going to do.

This suddenly made me wonder if there was a Doom TC for Quake, and it turns out there is (actual gameplay starts at around 2:02):
Also a review (Wayback Machine copy) of that TC.

"F*CK YOU You piece of mutant rat-infested goat sh*t!"
It's a very janky mod.
Another one that's actually very charming from back in the day is "Some Old Games" or "SOG"
Features Doomguy, BJ, and Quakedude.

Surprisingly the quality of that mod isn't that bad.

I wish I'd got into modding earlier. Those Doom mods are a mess, but they look like they had a ball putting them together.

They should make a set with a plush Pinky and an Imp.

...three? Are you referring to the Doom Guy and Pain Elemental plush? The Doom Guy didn't look as cool/cute but I did pickup a Pain Elemental too.

He tuned it with twin turbos, too, but later removed them.

I think I just found myself a new hero.
I mean, Carmack was already a hero of sorts to me, but now that I learned of this he jumped to god tier for me.
The thread also mentions Romero having a few of the red prancing horses... Fantastic stuff.
