This is kind of interesting actually Kathy because I remember one of these two games having troubles on certain modern OS. So I wonder if they have fixed anything?

I don't really want to buy another copy though even if it is one of my favourite series.

I doubt it, its a third party mod. Highly recommended though.

I had so much fun with the original Red Faction. I never owned it, only rented it on PS2 and played the hell out of the PC demo when it came out. I've clocked tons of hours in that glasshouse testing level, just making caverns that swirl around the open area and end near the top.
Red Faction 2 I thought was fun at the time, but the fact they called geomod more enhanced and better in it was a joke. Only a few specific walls could be blown up, and no terrain could be made holy. I still enjoyed it at the time though.
I thought Guerrilla was really fun as well, although instead of terrain deformation they went for blowing up buildings. If they could combine the two for this generation, that'd be amazing.
Also, seeing videos of Everquest Next gives me that Red Faction satisfaction. Seriously, go look up gameplay videos of it.
