The new generation of ret... gamers are getting a new and improved sonic game!

Epic "music" and epic "character" models made to appeal to the new generation of "gamers"
How many nails is Sega willing to put into Sonic's coffin anyway?
They are putting so many that at one point his wooden coffin is going to look like it has a metal armor around it...
The name Sonic Boom makes me facepalm every time I try to think this is actually a serious name that one of the most popular game characters from my childhood is receiving for it's latest joke of a game...
Did I mention I don't like it?

I think your comparison is too gentle and doesn't even scratch the surface of the truth but I do agree with you in entirety.

Also the boss fights were way too easy. I mean, I got a rank S on the final boss without even trying. I was like "Wait, it's over?!" How can you recreate the fucking Doomsday Zone boss from S3&K and then NERF the fucking difficulty?! Anyone who has gotten to that boss fight in S3&K knows what I'm fucking talking about. That shit was hard as tits. Plus you needed all 14 emeralds to even ATTEMPT it...

Actually, there are at least 4 great games in it if not 5.
And with a number as big as that, I think there are not many serious games out there that have so many successful sequels.
Who the fuck cares if it's a kids game now.
Maybe the old fans that used to be kids when it came out, should also be given some thought when making a new sequel.
When I was younger, I didn't play sonic nor mario because they had cute characters in them, I played them for the gameplay and ambient itself.
I am not a furfag nor a fan of cute cuddly push toys or cartoon characters, yet I can still play the genesis sonic games with lots of pleasure and nostalgia.
They contain everything from great music, visuals and gameplay.

If you say that, you are clearly not a classic sonic fan, or due to one reason or another, you are too ignorant to care.
Having seen you post and reply to me before, I noticed you always like to post against the current of a topic.
Don't know your age since you keep it private, but maybe your age has something to do with it or you're just a simple troll that likes to vent his anger by going against the negative or positive trend of a topic debate.

I hear they have some good people working on the game at least.

Also I didn't realize that my age mattered, or that it was even hidden on my profile. but since you care, I'm 26. I collect action figures and model kits, and I also draw porn of robots. does this help?

In which case the next step would be something like this:
The best part is this is a great explanation for all his rolling/spinning attacks.
Edit: Wow that tv show trailer thing was so unbelievably dull/generic/crap. It's just a web series right? Surely it can't be a real show.

Naah that's too fat.
To me it seems that they are going this route instead.

First of all, if you think sonic games are all shitty, why are you so upset about the bashing?
Second, random and gratuitous insults involving penis jokes and masculinity issues that could easly be made by a dumb 13 year old boy on Xbox Live, combined with the exagerated reaction in successive posts in response to someone's simple (though expressed in a dramatic way) opinion on the internet about a video-game franchise only indicates that you, in fact, is the only one here with real insecurity issues. Man up, being a 26 year old child will not do you any favor.
Last but not least:

I think it's more the fact that the people here seem to gravitate to only reiterating popular opinion, which is to say "Sonic is dead" over and over again. It's been said since Sonic Adventure, it continues to be said, this will not kill anything and it's just silly to act like that's the case. Everyone will get to saying 'ehh it's okay' by the point the game comes out and realize they were being silly. Continuing to hold the old games up on a pedestal is the problem and being unable to realize that it's a children's series and always will be is what's damaged it so severely. They tried to make games for adult fans that whined about the direction, and it lead to Shadow and Sonic 06, considered to be the worst games in the entire franchise. I don't know what you expect when they really should NEVER listen to the fans ever again.
By the way, the sonic comics have nearly dropped everything of the past iterations because it was convoluted trash (thanks Ken Penders). For once they're actually readable again.

I thought this song from Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was all right though:
In their most recent trailers they used popular music to promote the game (Sonic Generations used Tenderoni by Kele, Sonic Lost Word used Cinema by Benny Benassi and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed used Promises by Nero) so I guess they thought Bangarang was a good idea... I hope that the next trailer that comes along doesn't stick to Bangarang and uses some of the in-game music or something... please.
