Ah I remember playing Whacky Wheels shareware back in the day. Not sure how well it'd do in today's market though.

The dates are a bit funky with this project I have just noticed. The website it links to on the page mentions 2012 and the page itself was updated June last year...

So it's safe to assume it's been put on the shelf at this stage?

Mario Kart is still played by some people, I can see Wacky Wheels being marketable. It is marketable to people who remember the original and people who played Mario Kart and all of the other fun little racing games.
Although, I'm not a very big cartoon game player. I would probably consider a new version of Wacky Wheels though. If it was on Kickstarter as the blog implied he might try, I'd fund it.

Hey.... You got a problem with those of use who play Mario Kart?

Nope. I like Mario Kart. One of the few console games I have really played without hating myself.

I think they might be serious about getting it out this year, they retweeted me earlier on Twitter about the remake and have been replying to a few people about it https://twitter.com/cascadiagames
And this:

I remember having a lot of fun with the shareware back in the day. Good times.

I genuinely believe the original is one of the best Mario Kart clones ever with Crash Team Racing (and both better than SMK itself, because fuck the cheating AI and the courses full of 90 degrees angles)

Bump because fuck you, I want this game.
Any news?
Any news?
As far as I know, the developers are working on a game called 2-Bit Cowboy at the moment and it is close to competition. I might give them a nudge on Twitter later.

If they post any actual screenshots I'll make sure to post here. So far they have only shown a top down view of a map being reprinted over but I think they wanted to show a video too.

Looks good. Wonder who's doing the music.

That movement looks really weird, it's like he's drifting to the right even when he isn't. Hopefully that's just an alpha issue.

Looks like the whole cast is returning. I can see Bombo, Sultan, Morris, Uno, Peggles, Ringo and Razor.

Doesn't look bad, but I wish they would kind of expand on the concept than just give it a fresh coat of paint.

First blog about the game. Apparently it has generated more interest than their other games.

Not really surprised.... the old Apogee library of games is popular.

Haha, this is neat. I didn't know about it until now.
Had some fun times with playing multi-player with this game back in the day.
Lucifers ass will look glorious in that high res art.

:/ It's just the same track with more modern graphics. If they don't have new tracks or don't expand or improve the concept, I don't really see the point... Personally I still like the old graphics, I don't need new ones.
But well, this is alpha material so... we can't really base anything on that. Wait&see.
