When Let's Play started on SA, it was never about the easy money schemes.
It's why we can't have nice things

Uploading a game video is (like) a way to PROMOTE the game.
As for modern and classic games videos.
I see many comments in video game videos saying this game looks great I will buy it.
So it helps spreading the game and promoting it.
Will it attack people playing classic Atari, Commodore, SNES . GEN and NES games etc?

.......rather than actual fair use practices, such as game reviews... I believe the situation I described above is completely different than this.

If nothing else it's great to see some gameplay to check whether a game is to your taste, but also as a walk through for when you get really really stuck somewhere and just want to see how someone gets past a certain point.

What does Capitalism have to do with it? This is about copyright LAW. It has nothing to do with the economic system at work. Even if we were talking about state despots, there would still be copyright law, run by the state, and it would be just as greedy, if not more so since it has a military to back up it's claims. Seriously, go spend a few years where states garnish your wages "for your good" and then come back and bitch about Capitalism.

They're making money off of something that isn't theirs for one thing. It's a violation of the terms of service. That's the problem.
Honestly, it's always bugged me that people were making money off of something that they did not create. I do not agree with the likes of Totalbiscuit and others who say that a Let's Play is some form of art, or content creation. It's really not. It's just someone playing through a game. Which I think is fine in and of itself, but it is not a job, why would you be allowed to make money off of that? It would be just as absurd to make money off a video of you playing a music album and recording your stereo for 50 minutes. You're literally doing nothing but playing a game casually for cash. It's not a review, it's not a competitive arena. You're literally making that money off backs of the hard work of game developers.
As to whether it's a source of returns for game developers as some kind of advertisement for them is neither here nor there, and I do think it should be up to their discretion as to whether these things are dealt with or not on a case by case basis. Some companies may not care. Others might. It's their IP, let them decide.

I was taking aim at wrong things in the video gaming industry. Like developers becoming acquisitions by big publishers that chose money over quality. Publisher forcing developers to create a specific game instead of developers having creative freedom. Publishers shutting down developers. Refusing to release the source codes to the public. That's why the video gaming industry blows nowadays.
I agree w/ George Brousarrd's tweet: https://twitter.com/...683516776288256
Now moving on to attacking the copyright laws.

Most of the games I have uploaded footage of actually have statements from the authors stating that you are allowed to upload the footage to YouTube and make money from it. (Minecraft/Garrys Mod come to mind)

Read my post carefully, I said if they're not making money by uploading the videos then I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to do that.

I am continually praying for Mikko. He has called me many names in the past but I must always remember to show kindness to those that persecute me. I have faith that he can be enlightened and truly discover the right path through continuous fasting and prayer. God bless him.

I don't think so. Google is most probably acting under the influence of crack, aka their new automated layer.
As you know not all game makers are interested in getting those videos pulled
http://www.forbes.co...cted-youtubers/
They probably understand that the indirect free advertisement of their games outweigh a silly copyright law.
