TekWar is beyond bad (as a game). So please don't add it.

@ Skulldog , I have p.m. with a quick feedback.

Quick (temporary) fix for Witchaven dosbox windows exit bug:

Edit WHAVEN.BAT from:
\Witchaven Launcher\CAPSTONE\WHAVEN\WHAVEN.BAT

and change the file to:

@echo off
smackply intro.smk /u1
wh
exit

Note: it just adds the exit command to the end of WHAVEN.BAT. This is a temporary fix and it will not be needed in a future release.

The problem will be probably fixed in the next release (the problem was that the WHAVEN.BAT should be called with the CALL command)

Cool, I will embed a new batch file in the launcher to replace the original..

Witchaven fucking sucks. It's a typical Capstone Software game: Ambitious but rubbish.

You can't even have the x and y axis move at the same speed, making mouse control impossible.

Yea, it would be nice to have it updated to the latest build engine.

If you can't figure out how to launch the early Terminator games, you'll be even more lost at figuring out how to play them...

Wait a minute, they made a second Witchaven? Why on God's Earth would they do something so wrong headed?

Actually if someone can improve hit detection (plus few other fixes for some of the issues), implement mouse + keyboard control (mouse look mode is a must), and configure WASD as movement keys (among other changes in key binds), it can be quite entertaining.

I admit though that it's being a very long time since I last played Witchaven I or II and Exhumed/Powerslave.

And if that's not enough you can map the keys with the DOSBox keymapper. I have often used it to map joystick controls to keyboard, useful trick if you don't actually have a joystick but the game requires one.

Of course you can remap keys, I'm not referring to that. But, I was referring to mouse look + keyboard (I wrote it clearly: mouse look). There is no mouse look in Witchaven nor in Exhumed.

Sorry if I was misunderstood, my English are not very good.

Suggestions for the next release:

1. Add the latest EGwhaven dos port for Witchaven II

2. Add ETTiNGRiNDER's Unofficial Witchaven Level 5 patch

3. Add The Horror Back by Lothar [Witchaven II] you can find it at ETTiNGRiNDER's site

4. Add FBMouDis - Forward/Backward Mouse Disabler for Witchaven I & II and Powerslave/Exhumed

5. Use the "call filename.bat" when you want to tell dosbox to run wh.bat or any other batch file.

or add the lines included in wh.bat directly to dosbox's .conf file

Despite Tekwar being the least favorite and a complete waste of time to some forum members here. I just recommend adding it for the sake of historical build engine reasons. Supergoofy's finds are very enticing and I hope they get added to this launcher. The name of this launcher package should be renamed to "Early Build Engine Games" or something relative as it supports multiple examples of pre-Duke3D era games. Thank's again for the previous addition to the Duke 3D package. Adding Lameduke and early beta's is a more of an interactive experience than just reading articles of "What Duke 3D would have been".

I played number one briefly after it came out. I was all hyped as it was supposed to be a bit like 'Heretic on the BUILD Engine'.

I think I actually played about 20 minutes of it before quitting back to DOS. What a shambles! Really crudely photo-sourced textures and... someone was credited as a designer on this? It was sort of like a medieval FPS done via a Mad Lib.

The thought that they made a second one is mind-boggling.

I've never played Tekwar. I'll have to grab a demo and see what it's like - but just to see what it's like.

EDIT: Just watched a video of Map 01 and it doesn't appear that the level has had any sector shading applied.
