Ok, having flooding various threads with this emo-thing, I decided it's better to create the whole thread for expressing my emo-libido.
You can also vote.
So far Ironside could be an emo since he doesn't know what emo is. Also, I believe, Rock is also an emo.
Oh, about emos. Recently I spoke with emo specialist about what emo really means. He said about 3 fundamental laws:
1. Cut yourself.
2. Listen to shitty music.
3. Wear black.
That sums it up.

I said emo music was shitty.
I like emo music though, but generally people think its shit.
Bands considered emo:
Fall Out Boy
My Chemical Romance

Funeral For A Friend's first album is great. Haven't listened to the other albums, though.
Ironside, you're cool.
Btw, Yatta. We need emo smile.

Emo is a hairstyle, apparently.
BTW, FOB and MCR are boybands for 14yr olds - give Fugazi a listen.

Well, maybe they are for a 14yr olds. But it's not that I'm listening only to those band. Sometimes I want to listen this "teen" stuff. And I'm not THAT old either. Well, maybe I am. But I look young!
Gonna try Fugazi, though.

I think Repeater (+3 songs) is a good place to start; 13 Songs has Waiting Room (their best known song), but is IMO less accessible.
If you're going for tracks rather than albums, I suggest the following:
13 Songs:
- Waiting Room
- Give Me The Cure
- Suggestion
Repeater:
- Turnover
- Repeater
- Merchandise
- Blueprint
- Sieve-fisted Find
- Two Beats Off
- Shut the Door
I don't know any of the later albums, but Bed for the Scraping and Long Distance Runner from Red Medicine are pretty damn cool.
Don't expect Fugazi to sound anything like more recent emo-pop BTW, they're more post-hardcore (Ian Mackaye was in Minor Threat).

No, I'm the "albums only" guy.
Actually, MCR's first album sounded less teen-like, I think.
Oh, about MCR's videos. I couldn't bring myself to actually watch "I'm not okay" for more than 10 seconds. It's AWFUL. "Helena" on the other hand, is great. (well, 2 years ago I thought it wasn't good either).

I don't know shit about (post)hardcore, actually. Well, I love Neurosis, but that's hardly a hardcore now.
Listened to Fugazi yesterday. Interesting music, but I wasn't really moved. Gonna try again maybe.

Lotan, I wanted to be emo in grade 6 and 7.
Sure, I like the music, but what the hell is with you people cutting yourselves!
I bet half of you have no reason to do it.

There is always a chance. If DNF isn't released in 2009, then he'll probably be crying in the Rant thread. Oh, and cutting wrists of course.

emo's are ok, it's SCENE kids that shit me.
"ooo let's go out and buy (insert post-hardcore/punk/emo/hardcore band name here) t-shirts, even though we have never heard a single song from them, but like, everyone else is listening to them, so it's ok, then we can paint our nails black and it will look totally cool." FUCKING LAME!
I like anarcho/oi punk the most, but i have an open mind when it comes to music, i listen to it all.

I'm not emo, homosexual, ginger or a Communist, but I have no problem with those who are. I only have a problem with bullies, who suck more than the suckiest suck that ever learned suckiness from Bludd

I was into the goth scene for a year or two. Nothing major. But I'm just me now. Couldn't really careless about what I'm supposed to be labeled as.... human?
